So this bullshit is happening yet again. *weary, frustrated goddamn sigh*

Twitter rant embedded below.

Just to note: it was only on the weekends that my brother was putting the newspaper in the box himself. The rest of the week, I was reporting it every single time I'd go out there to get the newspaper and it wasn't in the box like it should have been. Had I known that my brother was the one putting it in there on the weekends, and not the paper carrier, I would have been reporting the fuck out of it on those days as well.

For shits and giggles, here are copy/pastes of the complaint emails I sent, starting as of about six weeks ago:

First complaint, sent on April 27, 2017:

I am writing this email on behalf of my 79 year old mother, <name redacted>.

For at least five straight days now, the paper carrier has failed to properly deliver the newspaper to the News & Record tube at my mother's home. I have called the News & Record customer complaint line at 336-274-5476 every morning that the paper has not been delivered, but so far nothing has been done to correct this issue, or to even acknowledge it, for that matter. We have been having this problem of improper delivery intermittently for at least four or five
years now, and I had thought that the situation had finally been resolved, for the most part, at least up until recently. I seriously hope that this improper delivery is not going to become a trend yet again.

To reiterate: The newspaper is supposed to be delivered to the News & Record tube outside of my mother's home,
not thrown out on the ground at the end of the road, next to the highway, one-fifth of a mile away from her home. Today, my mother did not receive a newspaper at all.

In the past, I have had to involve the Better Business Bureau before I got an adequate response from the News & Record concerning this issue. I would prefer not to have to go this route again, if at all possible.

Second complaint, sent on May 17, 2017:

This situation is still ongoing. Since the previous email, quoted below, my mother has not properly received her newspaper on a rough average of 5 days out 7, per week. Either the newspaper continues to be just thrown out next to the highway, one-fifth of a mile from her home, or it doesn't get delivered at all. Every day that the newspaper has not been properly delivered to the News & Record tube next to her home, I have called and left a complaint at 336-274-5476 on her behalf. Nothing has come of that, as of yet.

As I said in the previous email, quoted below, if this situation does not soon get resolved (or even acknowledged), I will be filing another complaint with the Better Business Bureau against the News & Record. That was the only action that seemed to get a proper response during previous iterations of this issue.

First response received, also on May 17, 2017 (in response to which I replied with the requested information):

Dear Mr. Plummer,

We do apologize for the delivery issues and do value you as a customer. If I may have the phone number and address to better assist you?

Thank you for your time,

<name redacted>
Communication Liaison
BH Media Group

Second response received, also on May 17, 2017:

I understand sir, I have forwarded your information to the Director to speak with both the District Manager and carrier regarding the delivery.

Third complaint, sent on May 24, 2017:

To follow up on this: Until today, my mother had still not gotten a proper newspaper delivery for three out of the past five days or so.

Today, for once, she did receive a newspaper in the N&R tube outside her home, but it was only a small thing called "Rockingham Now," which she has never received before, instead of a proper
Greensboro News & Record newspaper. I don't know what is going on with that, but my mother has a subscription to the Greensboro News & Record, not this small "Rockingham Now" thing, whatever that is.

Also, aside from the email quoted below, there has been no other acknowledgement of this ongoing issue. Nobody has attempted to call my mother yet about this since my most recent email, as far as I am aware.

All we want is for my mother's
Greensboro News & Record newspaper to be properly delivered to the News & Record box/tube outside of her home, as it had been, mostly without fail, for the past fifty years or so, at least up until we started having these continual issues with improper delivery starting in the past four or five years or so.

Fourth complaint, sent this morning (June 6, 2017):

I am writing this email on behalf of my 79 year old mother, <name redacted>.

To follow up on this
yet again, this is still an ongoing issue, just as it has been since the original email from almost six weeks ago, quoted below (and in which I pointed out that this has been an intermittent problem for years now, as well). Also, we have still not received any acknowledgement of this issue since then, aside from the one response from May 17, which is also quoted below.

Again, for reference, my mother's address and phone number is:

<redacted>

Every day that my mother does not receive her newspaper in the News & Record tube/box outside of her home, I call the automated complaint line at 336-274-5476 and report it, on my mother's behalf. Today, however, when I tried to call the automated complaint line, even the automated system finally acknowledged that we have been having a lot of problems with this lately, and the computerized system attempted to connect me to an actual human being, for once. However, almost immediately after that, I heard an unusual "the call could not be completed as dialed" error message, and the call was disconnected.

As such, here I am,
once again, sending yet another email in an attempt to get some assistance with this issue. I was told almost three weeks ago, as quoted below, that the "Director" would "speak with both the District Manager and carrier regarding the delivery." I do not know what came of this, if anything, or if such a thing even occurred, as we have not been contacted at all via phone about this as of yet, but I do know that whatever happened, it has not resulted in proper and consistent delivery of my mother's newspaper.

(Just to note, I do not know if there is a different paper delivery carrier on the weekends or what, but on the past couple of Sundays, my mother has gotten the newspaper brought to the News & Record tube/box outside of her home, as it should be. I do not know why this cannot be the case
everyday, and not just on the weekends, but it is mostly during the weekdays that the newspaper is simply tossed out on the edge of the highway, one-fifth of a mile from her home, which is unacceptable.)

This is the last attempt I will make to try to get this situation rectified via contacting the Greensboro News & Record directly. If we do not receive a response in a reasonable time frame after this final attempt, my next step will be to report the News & Record to the Better Business Bureau again. That was the only course of action that got any sort of response and (temporary) resolution the last time this issue became a big problem in recent years, and it regrettably appears as if that might be the case this time as well.

Correction to previous complaint, sent about an hour ago:
(Just to note, I do not know if there is a different paper delivery carrier on the weekends or what, but on the past couple of Sundays, my mother has gotten the newspaper brought to the News & Record tube/box outside of her home, as it should be. I do not know why this cannot be the case everyday, and not just on the weekends, but it is mostly during the weekdays that the newspaper is simply tossed out on the edge of the highway, one-fifth of a mile from her home, which is unacceptable.)
Actually, I was wrong about this. I just found out from my brother today that he had simply been picking the newspaper up off the ground on the edge of the highway and bringing it out and putting it in the News & Record tube/box at my mother's house himself on the weekends, without telling my mother, so she mistakenly thought that it was the paper carrier who had been delivering it on the weekends. So, in actuality, the situation is even worse than I what I reported below. As such, the paper carrier has not been delivering the newspaper into the News & Record tube/box outside of my mother's home
at all for the past six weeks or so since I first reported this issue.

This is unacceptable.

So very MUCH beyond sick and tired of this goddamn fucking horseshit.
