Michael Jackson's death and how it affected Wikipedia.

The news of Michael Jackson's death isn't what got me. It's surprising, sure, but I'm not terribly broken up over it, sorry to say.

The fact that his death apparently caused a storm of activity (edit/revert wars, etc.) on his Wikipedia page isn't what got me either, as that's to be expected. It's Wikipedia, after all.

No, it's the fact that someone has already written an article about how Michael Jackson's death affected Wikipedia that got me. For some reason, that just totally throws me for a loop.

As of right now (although I'm sure this will quickly change), if you do a Google search for "Michael Jackson is dead", this is the first link in the results.

Was... was that an actual thing that was going around the Internet at one point as if it were real? Seriously? I mean, it came from the freaking Onion, for crying out loud.
