AGDInteractive have released their remake of Quest for Glory II. These are the same guys who made the remakes of King's Quest I and II (but not KQ3) a while back. Unfortunately, the remakes for KQ1 and KQ2 are apparently temporarily unavailable for the moment, but still... Quest for Glory II!

For reference, QFG2 was the only QFG game that didn't get an official VGA release by Sierra itself. Man, if I didn't have a bunch of other, newer games to play, I'd be tempted to play through the entire QFG series again, using this new version of QFG2 in place of the old EGA version. Hell, I may just say screw it and do that anyway... >_> Except that, as I recall, I wasn't able to get QFG5 to run on my current comp for whatever reason last time I tried it, which was the main reason I didn't bother before. I'm sure that if I mucked with it more than I have, which admittedly wasn't that much at the time, I could probably get it to work eventually, but oh well.

Yeah, every time I tried to run QFG5, it would crash when you come out of the cave at the start of the game and slide down that ramp. Every time. Totally lame, because that game rocked.

That was QFG4, wasn't it? I encountered that issue too, but I think there were some workarounds for it. There's a similar issue later in the game when you're trying to get through the swamp as well. Mostly it's some of those "trying to play a really old game on a fast new computer" glitches.

For QFG5, I don't exactly remember what my problem was when I tried it a few months ago, except that the game either wouldn't install properly or it wouldn't launch properly after installing. I didn't mess with it too much, but it's what killed my attempt at re-playing the series again back then.

QFG5 frustrated me for the longest time when I originally bought it, due to the fact that you couldn't even import your characters from previous games at all, and Sierra didn't release a patch for it until several weeks/months later. I didn't touch the game at all until the patch came out, which kind of killed my stride since I'd just played through the previous four games and built up a character just for QFG5. If I recall correctly, all of this was during the era after when Sierra had been sold to CUC/Cendant but before Vivendi came into the picture.
