This is probably one of the reasons why I never buy games from big publishers on steam - they're the biggest users of that shit.

Additionally, whenever I go through a queue of recommendations I quickly check to see if the game uses any kind of 3rd party drm. If it does, I instantly mark it as ignore - even if I had no interest whatsoever in the game.
