If those things look that much like IRC, it might be they run on irc in some way in the background. Or are able to sync up with it the way the wolfpack chat was essentially just a web front for an irc channel.
The #ow channel still exists btw. I haven't used mirc in probably decades at this point, I just use hexchat, which is essentially xchat 2 or something. The only ones in the channels these days however are me, goldpseudo, and the ghost of Phht. (One day last year Phht just showed up again... but has not spoken.)
