"No Man's Sky Worlds Part I Deep Dive"
"Sean takes a deep dive into Worlds Part I, the latest (free) update for No Man's Sky, which offers a complete refresh of the universe, a massive increase in the variety of flora and fauna, huge visual enhancements and much much more."
As someone who has played through the full game (or, rather, what counted as the "full game" at the times I played it) at least twice now (and a few other aborted attempts that never really went anywhere), the only things that vaguely interest me about this update are the new, weirder-looking animals and the water stuff. That said, the surface of the water can be as pretty as they want to (and can) make it, but if the oceans underneath are still just shallow puddles, then I still don't much care. So, yeah, wake me up when the game has actually deep, decent oceans. That might be the thing to get me to actually reinstall the game. Maybe in "Worlds Part II"? I couldn't give less of a rat's ass about any of the "community-based" "Expeditions" shit at all, though. Oh well, at least all the patches/DLCs continue to be free. I'll give them that much credit.
People in the comments are like "Hello Games has already completed their redemption arc; this is just the victory lap." Nah, they still don't have all the shit that the dude in this video promised would be in the game at launch, almost a decade ago, and they just keep dumping more unasked for (and, in some cases, for me at least, entirely unwanted) shit on top of it. Feature creep, in other words. But then, feature creep seems to be on of the key components of the modern video game industry as a whole, now, though, not just Hello Games, so... *shrug + weary sigh*
