Because of course the Trump/McConnell-stacked GQP SCOTUS would rule that way.
"The court, divided 6-3 on ideological lines with conservatives in the majority, said civil rights group had not done enough to show that legislators were focused on race in drawing the Charleston-area district currently represented by Rep. Nancy Mace, a Republican."

Like I said way back at the very start of darkness (back when the SCOTUS situation was still only a mere hypothetical, though it absolutely has since been proven all too true), the current SCOTUS will continue to fuck us all over for decades to come, with flagrantly terrible decisions like this one here.
