Well, good on Biden, I suppose. Taking the high road and all that, after making (relatively) innocuous comments. He's certainly not wrong about the fucking inane state of American political rhetoric these daysyears.

It's just that Biden, mostly trudging along the high road, runs the very real risk of being overtaken and beaten to the White White by Trump, who is just flat out sprintinggolf-carting along every low road shortcut he can find (while breaking as many traffic laws along the way as he can get away with [which is practically all of them, since Trump seems to have the courts firmly on his side], to extend the metaphor even more).
