"The Fall of ProJared - #CUPodcast 160 Intro"

I have to admit that I knew exactly jack and shit about this ProJared guy prior to watching this video, and now I'm glad he's someone that I'd never heard of before.

As far as Pat and the whole "not wanting to be known for being the NES Punk" thing he talks about a bit at the end, I'm not sure I've actually seen him do anything with the "NES Punk" brand for... quite a long time. I'm pretty sure the last thing I saw that was "NES Punk"-related was his crossover with AVGN over half a decade ago.[1][2] And I can totally understand that. It's, like, I wouldn't want to be known only for my OtakuWars! stuff or for those silly Fight mp3s or whatever from now on, forever, either (not that any of that is even remotely in the same ballpark, really, but still).

[1] - Though they appear to have done another crossover a few years after that, which, for some reason, I'm pretty certain I've never seen until today, oddly enough. o_O

[2] - Also, it looks like Pat has still been doing "NES Punk" stuff at least as recently as January of this year,[3] and at least two or three a year prior to that, so... I guess it's more that I just haven't been following it? Though it's kind of weird that I don't recall seeing any of this show up in my inbox back then, given that I am subscribed to the "Pat the NES Punk" Youtube channel, and have been for years. (I mean, it's how I am made aware of new CUPodcast videos and such, after all.)

[3] - The stuff at the beginning of that most recent episode of NES Punk was apparently a self-parody/passive-aggressive swipe over this shit I guess? (Fair warning, despite linking to it there, I haven't watched and won't be watching that ReviewTechUSA video at all. I took a brief peek down in the comments of that video, and if those are the type of people who are agreeing with that video, then, no, I have less than zero interest in watching it.) Also... people still give a shit about Blizzard at all? Huh. Wow. People are angry that Blizzard is making a Diablo mobile phone game? Okay. Not that I give a fuck myself, because I already gave up on Blizzard long ago. "Gamers" are pissy and buttmad because Ian and Pat shittalked them for getting all bawwwy and overreactive about the mobile phone thing? Sure, whatever, I can see that. I pretty much agree with Pat and Ian for the most part, same as usual. "Gamers" are whiny, self-entitled babies, for the most part, sure enough. Well, except for the parts where Pat and Ian implied Blizzard was still a respectable company or that Diablo III was a "success" or a "good game" or whatever. That I don't agree with so much, I suppose, so... *shrug* I mean, okay, yeah, monetarily for Blizzard, sure, Diablo III was a ginormous success, if only because "gamers" love having their lips surgically attached to the sewer pipe that is the modern video game industry and everything that entails, but beyond that... meh. I certainly will never give a positive shit about Diablo III or Blizzard anymore, but who cares what I think, right? Hell, I thought I was done saying anything at all about fucking Blizzard or goddamned Diablo III, but apparently not, I guess.[4]

[4] - And not a single bit of any of that past the first paragraph has anything to do with that ProJared douchenozzle, but whatever. I don't give a flying fuck about that, either. It's my blog. I'll rant about whatever I want. ¬_¬

I've known of Projared for a few years. I remember watching one of Jon Tron's videos of a conference panel event where he and like 4 others were hosting together taking questions etc. Projared, Peanutbutter Gamer, and one other was there. Can't remember who the last person was off the top of my head. I did bookmark the channels of each of them though since "hey I liked watching some of jon tron's stuff (Despite some of the crap he got wrapped up in over the last year or two) so maybe I'll like their videos too."

In all honesty I ended up not watching their channels that much and at some point even prior to the shit breaking with Projared I had already deleted the bookmark to his page. Not over anything in particular - I just found his channel overall inactive at best, and boring overall. If I still had him bookmarked at this point I'm sure it would have been deleted after reading about what went down. I took the opportunity to remove Peanutbutter Gamer's bookmark as well this week though since to be honest I found him even less entertaining than Projared.

As for the people being butthurt over Ian and Pat talking bad about'em, I'd say Ian and Pat should wear it as a badge. Obviously those gamers apparently care enough about the CUPodcast's opinion that they have to rage against it. :D
