Huh?
"'Furthermore,' Kojima said, 'the game takes place in 1984, when Snake is 49 years old. Therefore, we needed someone who could genuinely convey the facial and vocal qualities of a man in his late 40's.'
"Sorry Hayter, being 44 doesn't qualify to you play a convincing character in his late 40s. But Sutherland, three years older than Hayter, apparently fits the criteria better."
Wait, when Kojima says Snake here, is he talking about Solid Snake or Big Boss? Hmm, judging by the birth dates in those wiki pages, it's pretty clear he's talking about Big Boss. If Hayter isn't voicing Big Boss then that's not as big a deal for me, given that (spoiler alert) they already had someone else voicing the older Big Boss in MGS4 (though, admittedly, that was only in a single scene that occurred in the last 20 minutes or so of the game, during the end credits even). I mean, it'll still be somewhat weird, given that Hayter voiced Big Boss in MGS3, but... eh.
Well, in any case, I haven't played a Metal Gear game since MGS4 anyway, and haven't really had much interest in doing so either, so I guess this isn't all that big of a deal to me one way or the other. And this new Metal Gear game will likely be coming out for one of the two new consoles that I probably won't ever be buying, so there is that as well. *shrug* (Unless Sony somehow miraculously proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that it definitely won't be following in Microsoft's footsteps, despite all indicators to the contrary...)
