Thought about this after reading this Cracked.com article. (See also this, assuming you have Facebook.)

So, you have a video game, right? In this video game, you're playing as a traditional (i.e. male) hero. Your female companion/love interest/colleague/etc. has been captured/kidnapped/etc. at the beginning of the game. You play through the first three or four levels as this guy, on his way to save this woman. Then, just when you arrive at the stronghold of the kidnapper, you see the place in flames, dead bodies strewn around everywhere, and the female character who had been kidnapped is standing there at the entrance. The female character says, "Wait, you thought I needed rescuing from that putz? I appreciate the thought, I guess, but he was just a flunky of the true Big Bad, and I took him out easily myself. Come on, we have bigger fish to fry." At this point, one of two thing could happen: either the female character becomes a powerful ally/support character or, even better, the female character actually becomes the player character and the previous male protagonist becomes the ally/support character. And she's not all sexualized and wearing skimpy clothes or whatever (nor is she just the female equivalent of Duke Nukem or whatever either), but is a fully realized character. Perhaps even the female character's escape from the flunky is now unlocked as playable levels of their own.

I would totally play a game like that. If a game like this has already been made and I just don't know about it, please point me in its direction.

This week's Humble Weekly Bundle is the entire X series.

I have talked about this series on several occasions in the past. Updated time counts, according to Steam, are 76 hours on X:BtF, 1.9 on X-Tension, 113 on X2: The Threat, 72 on X3: Reunion, 485 on X3: Terran Conflict, and (currently) 406 hours on X3: Albion Prelude, for a current total of 1153.9 hours spent on this game series so far. Suffice it to say that this is, by far, one of my favorite game series of all time. You can get the entire thing via Humble for $6. That is all I feel I need to say about that.

The reason behind this being the bundle is, I'm sure, the fact that X Rebirth will be released in just a couple months or so.
