(Copy/pasted from a Facebook post, [EDIT] link is dead now, due to the fact that I killed my Facebook page [/EDIT] with added hyperlinks as I felt the desire to add them, though I won't be providing a direct link to the birdcage liner in question, itself. It is a simple Google search away, if you really want to see it, and I don't know why you would, aside from morbid curiosity, perhaps. I can respect morbid curiosity, I guess. Also, this entry is friend-locked, for what will probably be obvious reasons.)

Went into the bathroom this morning to see that my sister (i.e. the same sister who likes to watch "FOX and Friends" when she is at a place that has access to cable TV, likes to listen to Sean Hannity on her car radio, and who asked me just yesterday "what is clickbait?" [EDIT] link is dead now, due to the fact that I killed my Facebook page [/EDIT]) had the Rhino Times "news"paper sitting there, opened to the Opinions page, specifically the "Sound of the Beep" section, in which they print whatever verbal diarrhea people happen to call in with. It goes to show that Trump-supporting asininity isn't limited to social media on the Internet like Twitter or whatever.

I think most of it can be summed up by the caller who started their call with "Fellow Conservatives, I urge you to watch Fox News for the truth. Don’t believe the mainstream media..." That pretty much says it all. <broken FB emojis removed>

There were a very rare few nuggets of non-dumbshittery in there, but it's like finding bits of chocolate in a Jurassic Park-sized turd. You still don't want to eat it, because the thing as a whole is beyond disgusting.

I mean, just to give you a better idea of what kind of "news"paper the Rhino Times is, it regularly features a multi-page column written by Orson Scott Card. In this week's column, he opened with a bit about how he couldn't help but feel "disappointed" because Hurricane Florence didn't do more to Greensboro than just make it rain a little bit. Chock full of disclaimers about how it's great that nothing was damaged and nobody died here and so on and so forth, but still... just got to be a little disappointed when the hurricane doesn't live up to all the hype, ya'know? How *utterly* *inane* is that? I think Mr. Card was probably of the opinion that he was being funny. He was incorrect.
