"A French court has ruled that Steam users must be allowed to resell their games."
Yeah, assuming the appeal fails, Valve will probably just pay the fine and be done with it, as Ian and Pat predict. As for me, having the option to sell games from my Steam library would be nice. Not sure I'd use it any time soon (mainly because the games I would want to try to sell are shitty games that probably nobody else would ever want to buy), but it'd be a nice option to have.
I'd probably have more to say about this, but I was a bit too distracted by the fact that Pat weirdly seems to think that either of the Red Dead Redemption games are, or will ever be, on Steam. Speaking as someone who would probably buy both in a hot second (within reason) if they were ever made available on Steam, and, as such, has been kind of keeping an eye on that (lack of) situation, I find that to be depressingly naive and out-of-touch on Pat's part, which is how Pat increasingly seems to be, generally speaking, with regards to pretty much any modern video games-related topics, these days. Though, to be fair, he straight up admitted that he doesn't use Steam much at all, so I guess it's to be expected that he would know next to nothing about it. It just seemed to me like an oddly specific asspull on his part to use Red Dead Redemption as an example of a "Steam game," though. I dunno. *shrug*
