Yeah, too many people seem to be operating under the mistaken (or are intentionally propagating the disingenuous, disinformational) impression that "Defund The Police" means "get rid of all police everywhere and never replace them with anything at all ever so that anarchy can reign forever," and... uh... no, that's... not what it means. Anyone who claims to believe this (or anything even vaguely, remotely similar to this) is what it means are, as Cody says, either lying or dumb.

Speaking of lying and dumb, a lot of people in the comments are discussing the fact that they got a bunch of Dumbfuck Trump anti-"Defund the Police" ads before and during this Some More News video.

I actually saw one of those ads on TV a week or so ago. It was just as full of scary strawman dumbfuckery as you would expect, given that it was a Trump ad. I would try to find it and link to it here, just to show how stupid and moronic it was, but... no. No, I won't be doing that. I won't even link to a Google search about it. Because fuck Donald Trump.

If this game is indeed as Ian describes it, then yeah, I agree that it's probably nothing but a tone-deaf attempt to cash in on the ongoing phenomenon of creepy weirdos and Irredeemably Toxic Shithole-types being utter scuzbuckets and assholes on the Internet, and more the rightfully increasing pushback against such scumbags and asshats (though, of course, the phenomenon itself has been a thing ever since the Internet has been a thing and even before).

However, with that said, even if the game had been done well, and somehow actually handled the concept in a mature, meaningful way, and really did successfully point an effective spotlight on the issues of sexism and misogyny in the gaming community at large, you'd still have creepy weirdos and Irredeemably Toxic Shithole-types raising a stink to the high heavens, trying to get the game shitcanned. Hell, they'd be even more adamantly opposed to it if it had been actually good. Which is funny, because when games like Super Columbine Massacre RPG! or any of the dozens of asinine pro Donald Trump games on Steam or any of the other intentionally offensive shockshit comes out, and anyone ever dares to try to imply that they, too, might be shitty and in poor taste, these fuckwits hypocritically bawl about freeze peaches and all that, these very same dipshits who are currently trashing this gamer girl game and want it removed from existence (and you don't have to look far to find such dipshits on Youtube or elsewhere, in either case, though I won't be giving them free advertising here).

In any case, even if the game was done well and had actual merit, it still wouldn't be something I'd be interested in myself, but I especially don't care about it if it really is just the lame cashgrab that Ian says it is. I'll take his word for it, since he usually tends to be right about this sort of thing. (For the record, I never gave a shit about Night Trap, either, for good or ill.)
