Also, a heads-up to Rachel Maddow: Donald Trump is not my friend, though.

A smoker getting cancer is not a good comparison to Trump catching COVID-19.

A better analogy would be a mass shooter shooting at a crowd of people the size of the population of the USA, hitting and killing some 200,000 of those people while gravely wounding many more, and then turning the gun on himself and his closest family, friends, and advisors.

There is one (1) and only one (1) very specific, very explicit instance in which I would have agreed with Trump on that sentiment: circa 2001-2009, when Trump was calling himself a Democrat.

While I was out today, I counted a whopping six more Biden/Harris signs. It was great. Granted, it was only a thimbleful in the rancid ocean of Dump/Ponce signs I saw (including one that literally said "No More Bullshit" and what a ridiculous laugh riot that one was, given that Trump himself is the Platonic ideal of bullshit), but still.
