Yeah yeah, I know I've posted about all of this before, but it never doesn't suck.
I overslept this morning. Well, no, that is an incorrect statement. What I actually did was "stay in bed for 2 hours past the time that I should have gotten up." This does not mean that I overslept, however, because I did, in fact, undersleep. Even though I went to bed at around 12:30am and ended up sleeping until around 9:30 or so, I probably only got a total of around 4 hours of sleep, if that much. Blargh. Despite the fact that I wanted to do nothing more than just go back to bed and sleep for the rest of the day, I dragged myself up and shuffled off to work anyway. Guh.
Anyway, the difference this morning as far as the false awakening dreams go is that I actually remember (most of) them.
Dream #1: I had just gotten out of bed and was looking in my dresser for a shirt to wear to work. As I was digging through the clothes, I found some of my flannel shirts in the dresser. This was a red flag to me that Something Was Wrong™, because the flannels are supposed to be in the closet, not in the dresser. Then, when I found one of my coats in the dresser, this filled me with such horror that this was not the natural order of things that it ended the dream. It didn't wake me up (as far as I know), it just ended the dream.
Dream #2: The first thing I remember is finding myself wandering around in Safeway. Not sure if there was anything before this leading up to that point, and if there was I don't remember it now. Anyway, I was in Safeway, but I was still wearing my bed clothes (t-shirt, sweatpants, and such). Unlike the first dream, my response to this dream was simply along the lines of "Oh well, I made it this far with no shoes, might as well keep going. It's too late to go back for them now." And that's around the point that one ended.
Dream #3: I was looking around for my glasses. I couldn't find them anywhere. I searched all over the condo looking for them, getting increasingly frustrated that I couldn't find them. Then, I realized that I was actually wearing them, and had apparently been wearing them all night. However, the weird thing was that I was not only wearing my normal glasses, but I was also wearing a pair of safety goggles. This didn't make sense, even in the dream. And that's when that one ended.
I hate this kind of dream. I despise this kind of dream. I loathe this kind of dream. I abhor this kind of dream. I <insert synonym for "hate" here> this kind of dream. (Oooh, "anathematize" is a good one. I anathematize this kind of dream.)
