In a parable, Jesus used an example of a Samaritan who helps a Judean mugging victim, contrasting him with a rabbi and a fellow Judean who do not help him. He said that the Samaritan was looked on more favorably by God than the others because of what he did, even though the Samaritans were looked on by Judean Jews as savage, ungodly barbarians.
Jesus also said that, chief among all the laws, is the mandate that "You shall love your neigbor as yourself," saying that upon this mandate "hung all the laws of the Prophets."
This is clearly an example of Christians who are not living up to the Messiah's teachings. It's also an example of xenophobia run amuck.
