I kind of hate that pretty much every content provider I watch on Youtube now, what few of them there are left, feel the need to shill some random-ass product in the middle of their videos now. *weary sigh*

Also, boars or something, I guess. *shrug*

I can understand the need to add advertisements for some content providers - mainly the ones that aren't able to get proper funding elsewhere (or even with youtube itself either due to content (swearing, etc) or just not being big enough. Although that really doesn't apply to places like Some More News or say Angry Joe - where they have a somewhat good number of paying followers on patreon and the like that you would think would be the thing funding the videos.

He has enough people on patreon right now that if all of them were in the lowest tier he'd still be pulling down 20k per month from that alone, plus any normal youtube advertising revenue (Which I suppose would amount to just 300 bucks per video or so based on some estimates youtubers have given.

I tried calculating the money Angry Joe is making from his videos since he lists all the supporters at the end of proper reviews, and ... it was a lot more than some 20k. Perhaps it's true that when you get money, you only want more. ^^ (And they're perfectly fine to go for it but they should be careful they don't go overboard and realize they're tacking on ADDITIONAL advertising on top of youtube's advertising for those who aren't using adblockers.

I assume they do those ads specifically because those don't get killed by adblockers. I mean, they still get caught by me just explicitly skipping ahead in the videos until the shilling part is past, so I'm still not watching them, but they don't get automatically killed by adblockers, so I guess that counts for something? *eye roll*
