So I finally broke down and got Red Dead Redemption 2 a few weeks ago

This has pretty much been my experience, so far. Minus the bearskin and giant beard.

Steam says I've played it for a total of 53 hours so far. I'm still in Chapter 2. The only Legendary animal I've gone after so far is the Legendary Buck, though. I've mostly been going after hides/pelts for the satchels. I'm pretty sure I'm only one (more) perfect elk and one perfect cougar (EDIT) and one perfect wolf (damn it, thought I already had at least one of those) (/EDIT) away from the Legend of the East satchel. I figure the cougar will be at least as tough as the panther was, which I got lucky on killing a three-star one of those this evening on my second try.

Poor Kieran has been tied to that tree for months now.

I'm kind of amazed that my over a decade old computer is able to play it at essentially maximum graphics settings with almost no problems (though, granted, I did get a new-ish video card about a year or so ago, not to mention the new SSD drives recently, though I doubt that would have much to do with graphics quality... but even so, the motherboard and CPU and RAM are still decade-plus old shit by now). Some weird glitches with the water, especially in the swamp area, forced me to lower the "Water Refraction" setting from high to medium, but after that it was fine, and that's the only setting I've had to mess with.
