(EDIT)
Here have a Twitter thread:
Yeah, Hogwarts Legacy looks cool, sure, but... you know... J.K. Rowling and all that. *weary sigh*

Looking at Twitter, it seems like there are way more people who are confused or offended by the very notion of not playing Hogwarts Legacy because of Rowling than there are people actually saying they're not going to play the game because of Rowling. https://t.co/4JclX1QXn4

Hell, I'm not even saying that *I* will never play the game ever, because like I said, it looks cool.

But any way you look at it, it's not a great situation, all thanks to J.K. Rowling being a shitbag. Horrid people can still create otherwise good or at least interesting things.
And I'm not someone who's going to try to claim that everything to do with Harry Potter suddenly sucks now just because it turns out that the person who created it sucks hairy, encrusted bawbag, but I also understand the idea of wanting nothing to do with it because of that.

Not that Rowling is directly involved in the creation of this game, in particular, as that seems to not be the case, but she still created the thing on which the game is based and will still be benefiting from the sale of the game.

That said, I do appreciate that the devs/publishers of the game have apparently tried to distance themselves from Rowling's horseshit, and that's a reason why I haven't just written off the game entirely, out of hand, as I would have otherwise.

In any case, even if I do eventually buy this game, it will be via my usual policy on buying games. So, even if Rowling *does* end up getting a bit of my money, at some point in the nebulous future, it certainly won't be much. https://t.co/6jxKzEoyoe

And for all those saying "oh boohoo what about the poor widdle devewopers pwease buy this game to support them even if it means the evil witch gets a cut too"... no, that's not how game dev works, at all, even if it would be better if it did work that way. https://t.co/2SznluFuvk

In other words, this, again.
