Here's the thing. Outside of perhaps a few dyed in the wool True Believers™, it is apparent that most GQP dipshits in DC are fully aware, and have always been fully aware, that their continuing braindead support for Dumbfuck Trump, no matter what, makes them look like blithering idiots and slobbering sociopaths to normal people, but they know that they can't not do it, because that's what the stupid, ignorant, gullible, hateful asswipes who at this point apparently make up the majority of their dwindling base of voters want to hear.
However, it appears that at least some of those GQP dipshits still ostensibly possess at least a few minor vestiges of shame and are getting tired of looking so much like blithering idiots and slobbering sociopaths and, as such, are starting to at least mildly moderate their overblown responses to the consequences of Trump's flagrantly criminal horseshit.
Regarding those Trumpublicans who, at least a little bit, might be finally coming to their senses, my thoughts on the matter continually waver somewhere between "better late than never" and "far too little, far too late." On the one hand, it's great that "cracks" are "emerging" in support for Trump. On the other hand, those "cracks" have been "emerging" ever since 2015, but the pace at which they are doing so has been far too slow, ridiculously slow, and for anyone who has been continuing to champion Dumbfuck Trump well into 2022, even if they finally, finally might be starting to turn the corner on doing so, there's still the fact that they had been blindly supporting him up to now, which no amount of contrition now is going to mitigate.
With that said, though, even when those "cracks" do occasionally "emerge," they tend to quickly get repaved again. This most certainly wouldn't be the first time that it looked like Trumpanzee politicians might be starting to come to their senses and hint at abandoning their God Emperor, only to then immediately double down on the asslicking again when it becomes politically expedient for them to resume doing so. Too many GQP shitsuckers, whenever one of the myriad "smoking guns" concerning Trump pops up, as they so very often do, tend to enter a sort of "covering my own ass" holding pattern for a bit, hemming and hawing about how maybe this time perhaps Trump has finally gone too far, mostly because they're merely waiting to see how their overlords in RWNJ "news" "media" will spin it as a good thing for Trump and/or as a black eye for everyone who's against Trump, and then, as soon as that happens, they're all aboard that Trump Train yet again. As such, everyone should always take these "moderate" views peeking out from behind the usual GQP obstinacy with a grain of salt.
