"John Oliver explains why you've been seeing more AI-generated content online, the harm it can do, and – sadly – why it is threatening his marriage. Do you hear us, cabbage Hulk? Stay the hell away from John's cabbage wife."

That chud claiming that most people don't enjoy the time they spend making music (as an excuse for why his AI music generator is "good")... that alone rated the "middle-finger-worthy" tag.

And I would say that all the people charging dozens to hundreds of dollars to explicitly "teach" others how to make money creating AI slop are even worse than the people creating the AI slop, except that they're the same fucking people. May they all be fucked by a sea urchin (perhaps even the same one).

In any case, it's not just silly bullshit, and it's not "just" artists having their livelihoods stolen, it's actively dangerous, as the bit about the first responders to disasters being distracted by AI dumbfuckery showed.

"And it's pretty fucking galling for the same people who spent the last decade screaming 'fake news' at any headline they didn't like to be confronted with actual fake news and suddenly being extremely open to it."

Also mentioned is the fact that people are starting to distrust real things because it might be deepfake bullshit some AI shat out, even when it actually isn't.

And the liar's dividend. (Something that Donald Trump, for one, has been benefiting from for decades, well before AI slop ever became a thing, but him claiming that real news about his bullshit is AI slop certainly doesn't help.)

"To summarize: AI slop can be somewhat lucrative for its creators, massively lucrative for the platforms that use it to drive engagement, and worryingly corrosive to the general concept of objective reality."

And at the end, spoiler alert, John Oliver unveils a real chainsaw carving, made by the guy mentioned in the video whose real life chainsaw carvings are being illegitimately replicated by AI slop, of the AI slop "purple cabbage man" that John Oliver mercilessly mocked at several points in the above embedded video (and also in the video description).

"Hi. On today's episode, Akilah Hughes joins Katy, Cody, and Jonathan to talk about Donald Trump's decision on Iran, which is apparently happening in the next two weeks. They also discuss Tucker Carlson's contentious podcast episode with Ted Cruz, the Supreme Court's discriminatory ruling on laws banning gender-affirming care, and how the GOP wants to sell off America's public lands for oil drilling.

"Here's the 'portrait' of Trump we're referring to in the second half of the episode: https://x.com/jeffmason1/status/19353...

"Here's a graphic representation of federal land that the GOP wants to sell: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/instant/b..."

Man, Fucker Carlson vs the Zodiac Killer is like... well... it's like Tucker Carlson vs Ted Cruz, because I'm too hard pressed at the moment to think of something possibly more lame than that. Even Timmy vs Jimmy was cooler than that (in part because that, at least, was parodying one of the greatest fight scenes ever put on film).

Regarding the guest host tearing into Amy Coney Barrett for "incorrectly" using what she (the guest host) mistakenly thought was the word "discreet"... um, no, she used "discrete" not "discreet." I mean, sure, Amy Coney Barrett correctly used the word "discrete," at least in the sense of the literal definition of the word, even if the argument she (Amy Coney Barrett) made using the word was still complete and total dogshit.

Right, so... Trump pettily had a portrait of Hillary Clinton removed and replaced with a butt fugly picture of his own butt fugly face colored to look like the American flag (which I am fairly sure probably goes against the flag code, not that oh-so-"patriotic" MAGAt asshats care about that shit at all). And that's about all that needs to be said about that.

So very much of what these vile shitstains on the underwear of humanity are doing fall into "they can't be serious" territory, but, no, they are very deadly serious about all of it, especially Trump. And because Trump is so goddamned serious about all the asinine dumbfuckery he does on a daily basis, everyone else around him has to treat it seriously, too, or else they risk being excommunicated from the cult.

Anyway, in conclusion to hell forever with Donald Trump and with Project 2025, which Trump is, obviously, following to a tee.

"Hi. Today we're looking at U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the agency that Donald Trump is using to do his Mass Deportations Now. We look at where they came from, why they're allowed to wear masks, and the movement to stop them from taking over American cities."

A few choice quotes:

"The only gang causing trouble is ICE."

"Kids, the thing you gotta know about post-9/11 America is that almost everyone lost their entire goddamn minds. According to polls, a slim majority of Americans thought it was necessary for some civil liberties to be ceded in order to defeat terrorists. Xenophobia and racism skyrocketed, specifically on the Right. So, we did a Patriot Act, which allowed law enforcement to collect our records and search our homes without notification, so long as they could prove that they 'thought' we were doing a terrorism. Which, at the time, simply meant that you looked Arab or Asian."

"What is ICE? It's just America, bro. It's the institutions we've given unchecked power to over the decades, the end result of the Patriot Act and our broken law enforcement system."

"It seems pretty bad if the system we're all used to is built on the gradual dismantling to civil liberties, because that's the thing: we're used to it. If Trump has any positive talents, it's his ability to make evident that which was already there. He is so grotesque and loud in his terrible goals that, in pushing the limits of his power, he's exposing the seams that everyone ignored. He's the guy who makes the mall security guards realize that, technically, there's no rule against skinny-dipping in the fountain. This is all to say that Trump and ICE are quite horrifyingly working in tandem with a system that most Americans consider functional."

I honestly had never heard of ICE, even though it had existed since the time of Dubya, before Trump started using it as his own personal Gestapo, back during his first """""administration,""""" and I wish I had never heard of it at all (by that I mean I wish it didn't exist at all) now that he's quadrupling down on that Gestapo shit. Oh, and good on Tim Walz, the guy who should be Vice President right now, for saying pretty much the same thing. I didn't know about that until I did a certain Google search just now. He's not wrong, and he's not the only one saying it. ICE == Gestapo. And if the Department of Homeland Security find the comparison "sickening," then fuck them, too. DHS can go piss up a rope.

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump, as usual, and to hell with that Todd asshole, too.

"Hi. In today's episode of EVEN MORE NEWS, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan discuss the LA ICE raids and protests, their implications for people living in LA and beyond, the escalation of anti-democratic tactics in the Trump Administration, and the tools available to fight them."

Not even two minutes in, and I'm already throwing up a middle finger at a screenshot of a tweet. (Or whatever the hell they're called on """""Truth""""" Social, if that's what the image was from, I don't know. Later, they show a screenshot of some filth that Trump spewed on the actual """"""""""Truth"""""""""" [which also got a double middle finger from me] and it looked a bit different from the earlier thing, so the first one was probably Twitter? [Or I guess I should say 卐, rather than Twitter.] In any case, it's probably safe to say that Pete Hegseth is not using Bluesky or Threads [is Threads even still a thing?], regardless.)

Centrist libs trying to concern troll protests, meanwhile Donald Trump is about to send has already sent in Marines and LAPD was already shooting rubber bullets at reporters.

I've been asking for a while when will it get to the point to where (sane, non-Trump-fart-huffing) people just get fed up and start saying, "no, fuck you, we're simply not going to do what you say because what you're saying is bullshit" to all the dumbfuckery that Trump's been ordering, and I think we're seeing that happen now. And... we really are going to end up in a literal Civil War again, aren't we. Assuming we aren't already in the thick of it, even now.

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth and Stephen Miller and everyone else who is all gung ho about this horseshit, as usual.

"Hi. In today's episode, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan talk about the targeted attack in Boulder, Colorado, Elon Musk's uneasiness talking about ways he disagrees with the Trump administration, and the embarrassing MAHA report that had made-up citations."

Speaking of Elon Musk...

Well, they talk about other stuff besides just Elron Mustard.

The worst thing, actually, is probably that asinine bitch being all like (to paraphrase) "well, healthcare isn't that important because we're all going to die anyway, so just accept Jesus Christ and live forever in the next world" or whatever the fetid fuck. If she's so blasé about dying, she might as well just go ahead and fucking do it, then. The sooner, the better.

Oh, and just to note: Jesus Christ, as a deity, is just as "real" as the tooth fairy, you cretinous cow.

"Hi. You may have noticed a new crop of influencers like The Nelk Boys and Bryce Hall taking over online spaces. Today we’re looking at who these people are and how MAGA influencers garnered so much... well, influence."

"The extremely partisan and vindictive crime president, looking to wet his thick beak as sloppily as possible, is now lording over every social media platform, which now happens to be one of the primary ways in which Americans get their information, the youth of which specifically following individual influencers, who may or may not be getting paid by political operatives working directly for that president to put out misinformation."

(My only minor quibble with that italicized quote from Cody Johnston there is that he used the world "misinformation" when he clearly should have used "disinformation.")

This is just dystopian shit. All of it.

It's frustrating and sad and horrible and disgusting that MAGA has been around long enough for there to be a "next generation" of anything related to it.

Also, I'd just like to state, yet again, that I loathe the entire concept of "influencers" in general. The only consolation for me is that I'd never heard of any of those "next generation" MAGA assholes, prior to this video. But then, there were a whole lot of mentions in this video of the current/old generation of MAGA assholes, too.

"John Oliver discusses how Donald Trump is attempting to reshape coverage of him in the press, how he's using his power to threaten media outlets he doesn't agree with, why this signals a slide toward authoritarianism for the U.S., and whether or not you guys can also see this twink we're pretty sure is a ghost. Seriously. We are so scared."[1]

All anyone needs to know about Trump and the press is this: If Trump likes a given news source, then that news source is probably utter dogshit and should be ignored entirely. If Trump hates a given news source, then that is probably one of the news sources to which you actually should be paying attention.

It really is that simple.

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump, as usual.

[1] - I really don't understand how they decide which "joke" to feature in the video description. John Oliver went on for like a full minute and a half about Doctor Odyssey (a show I'd never heard of prior to this video), with more mentions of it later in the video. The "twink ghost" thing was merely a short 15-20 second one-and-done "joke" roughly a third into it. That also has been the case for most of the previous LWT video descriptions, i.e. they pick some one-off "joke" to feature, when there were other "jokes" that were much longer and (arguably) "funnier." This may sound weird, but I really don't watch these Last Week Tonight clips (or episodes of Some More News, for that matter) for the almost entirely unfunny, tryhard "comedy" bits.
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. Today we're looking at the Department of Government Efficiency and how Elon Musk and his goons spent the last several months dismantling our government and propping their actions up with embarrassing lies."

I'll answer the question posed in the video title before I even watch the video. The reason why the Department of Obnoxious Memelords is lying about everything is because Elon Musk and Donald Trump, the latter being a known pathological liar and the former being a sniveling sycophant... and also a huge fucking liar. Simple as that.

Now to actually watch the video and see what nuance Some More News may put on this in the course of an hour.

...yeah, okay, I had completely forgotten that Vivek Ramaswamy had been involved with the Department of Goofy Edgelords for about five minutes.

So... without going into the nitty gritty (which one can do, if one really wants to, by simply watching the above embedded video), about half of this video was example after example after example of Elon Musk (in that weird monotone he always uses), and Elon Musk toadies like "Big Balls," all lying their asses off and demonstrating to everyone just how incompetent and inefficient they really are, and then the other half of the video was describing the effects of how all that stupid horseshit will fuck over American citizens and also people who are not American citizens, and then a bit at the end about the real reasons why Phony Stark and Dumbfuck Jizzstain Trump are doing all of this.

Seriously, the fact that one of the staffers of the Department of Overflowing Kaka goes by the name "Big Balls" pretty much epitomizes all of this ridiculous nonsense.

Also, the promise (threat?) of another entire SMN video on the topic of the Department of Ridiculous Knuckleheads. Yay(?)

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Elon Musk and with Donald Trump, as usual.

"John Oliver takes a look at the Alliance Defending Freedom – the legal organization behind several landmark Supreme Court cases, including the Dobbs case that overturned Roe v. Wade. Plus, a five-star book review of a one-star book."

It's crazy how these shitty, hateful RWNJ organizations name themselves in the most ironically assbackwards ways.

I'll just say it again: Religion is not an opiate for the masses, it is a neurodegenerative toxin for the masses. Though I think maybe I used an inferior term and that "encephalopathic" might have been better than "neurodegenerative."

"Hi. Donald Trump is saying and tweeting some very wild things about the U.S. Constitution, Star Wars, and beautiful baby dolls, so today, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan dig into all the weird stuff he said over the weekend. They also discuss the horrific state of Gaza and ICE's increasing aggression."

Yeah, Donald Trump being depicted with a red lightsaber seems about right.

Also, yeah, who could have possibly predicted that, after Trump became President, things would definitely get worse in Gaza and for anyone in the US who is even remotely expressing concern with how things are going in Gaza?

And holy shit. Wow, okay, this is indeed pretty fucking horrendous: "'We're citizens!': Oklahoma City family traumatized after ICE raids home, but they weren't suspects"

Nuremberg showed us that "just following orders" is not a valid defense for committing war crimes. I hope this eventually bears out for all the rank and file asshats currently committing atrocities (accidentally or intentionally) in the name of Donald Trump[1], as well. But then, it's not as if the latter group will ever actually be held accountable for their heinous bullshit actions in the first place, any more than their fucking God Emperor ever will either[1], so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously, though, at what point can we consider that Donald Trump has finally crossed the line? Does there even still exist a line for him to cross anymore? (I mean, I would say that the line was crossed and left well behind him way back during his first term, and that he should have been [but was not] appropriately punished for it back then, and this second term is just him now sprinting full tilt[2] even farther beyond said line. But what I believe doesn't matter at all, not even a little bit. It will only ever matter if Trumpanzees somehow think he's crossed the line, which seems increasingly unlikely to ever happen, because they're mostly hunky-dory with every fucking vile thing the disgusting shit-for-brains does. Here's to hoping that I am eventually proven wrong on that count and that enough of these people finally do turn against Trump, and against anyone and everyone even remotely within smelling distance of Trump.)

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump, as usual.

[1] - Not that Trump himself will ever be held accountable, mind you. He'll probably be long dead before any serious attempts to do so can ever come to pass. I guess we'll just have to be content with the definite knowledge that he'll be viewed by posterity in a similar way that most (sane) people objectively view monsters like Hitler and Stalin nowadays.

[2] - Figuratively speaking, of course, since we all know it's not physically possible for Donald Junkass Trump to do much more than toddle, let alone "sprint full tilt."

"Hi. Donald Trump celebrated 100 days in office by going on television a lot, so Katy, Cody, and Jonathan spend today's episode reacting to non-tattoos, fentanyl claims, Declarations of Love and Unity, and hats on hats on hats."

Trump... dude... when you've lost Ann Coulter, of all people, you really should just give it the fuck up, man.

Oh, well at least the video ended on a marginally positive note, I guess.

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump and anyone who still supports Donald Trump, as usual.

"Hi. Elon Musk says that empathy is 'the fundamental weakness of Western civilization.' In this episode, we look at why the right hates empathy and how they're trying to get more Americans to approve of their antisocial behavior."

The theme of this episode seems to be "no hyperbole here."

Two things about this video.

First, this is one of the best "real life is strangerway more fucked up and broken than fiction" views of current American RWNJ politics I've seen in a long while.

Second, this is one of the best "pulling back to look at the bigger picture" views of current American RWNJ politics I've seen in a good long while. Like a photomosaic, in a way.

Just... example after example after example after example of MAGAts and Trumpanzees and Trumps going so far beyond the pale in their... well... to call it "cartoonish evil" is an unfair insult to cartoons... so... asinine dumbfuckery that they've circled the Earth (like Superman), with all those examples serving to paint the overall picture that it's not just that RWNJs don't fucking care at all anymore about how literally evil they are, it's also a calculated ploy on their part to normalize their evil. And it seems to be working on far too many people (and this is one of those "more than zero is far too many" situations).

But but but... if you dare to bow up and express the least, tiniest bit of "cruelty" back at them in response to their vileness, they shrivel up like prunes, whinge about "lack of empathy," and run away. Something something hypocritcal piss babies.

"If you're wondering how the German people were able to ignore the atrocities around them, this is how. And now, it's happening in real time here."

(Yeah, I didn't "live-post" during watching this episode. I just watched it and then wrote the above. And please, Some More News, don't make me have to create a specific "gutfeld" tag. I really, really don't want to do it.)
kane_magus: (Default)

"John Oliver discusses the budget and staffing cuts being made to public health agencies in the U.S. under RFK Jr.’s new leadership, the many ways those cuts will impact all of us, and how WWII really ended. Trust us, it’s not how you think."

(This is about RFK Jr., huh? Okay, yeah, just gonna go ahead and slip that middle-finger-worthy tag down there real quick. I'm sure it will be justified very quickly. Also, going to type this up as I watch it.)

I will give RFK Jr. only this much credit for the name AHA: it's still a better name than fucking DOGE.

RFK Jr. or anyone else in government, let alone the fucking Department of Health and Human Services, freely admitting that they're doing anything at all out of fear that they might "lose political momentum" is goddamned ghoulish. (Especially given that all of the shit stupid things they are doing are accomplishing absolutely nothing good at all but losing them political momentum. That is probably the only silver lining to come out of all this horror.)

All right, that alone justifies the inclusion of the racism, transphobia, and homophobia tags.

This video is mostly about RFK Jr., so far, but... there's Phony Stark. I mean, he's not even doing anything in that clip but just sitting there, looking stupid, and nodding along as a fellow Department of Obnoxious Memelords asshat said asinine things, but that alone would have definitely justified the middle-finger-worthy tag, even if RFK Jr.'s comments about "los[ing] political momentum" hadn't already done so.

"Shitshow is an understatement for what just happened." I'm sure that will be an evergreen statement when it comes to pretty much anything that the Trump """""administration""""" does for the next four years. (Seriously, it still has been barely more than three months so far, everyone.)

Holy shit... so yeah, okay, Indiana Senator Jim Banks just skyrocketed up my list of "biggest shitstains on the underwear of humanity in all of federal government right now." He's probably even in the top 10 now, somewhere below Donald Trump, Elon Musk, JD Vance, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Mike Johnson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Gym Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, six of the nine Supreme Court Justices, and... well, okay so maybe not top 10, but at least top 20, probably.

Ah, and there's the vaccines = autism bullshit again. Kind of surprised it took around two-thirds of the video passing before they really got into that. I guess it just goes to show that RFK Jr. is a disaster in so many other ways as well.

"As a physician, I pledged to first do no harm and to speak up when I see harm being done by others. Secretary Robert Kennedy is a danger to the public's health and should resign or be fired." That about sums it up, yeah. That said, I think you could replace the "Secretary Robert Kennedy" in that second sentence with "President Donald Trump," "Vice President JD Vance," "Co-President Elon Musk" and many of the other rancid puddles of diarrhea who were appointed by Donald Trump to positions for which they were woefully (and intentionally) unsuited, as well, and it would still be 100% accurate, but yeah, RFK Jr. is the big one in this particular case.

"Hi. On today's episode, FYPod's Cameron Kasky joins three young, spry, Gen Z-adjacent hosts to discuss why 18-to-21-year-old men have swung so hard for Trump and what can be done about it. They also talk through the extremely boring-but-important dismantling of government infrastructure and marvel at Tim Pool's really good and incisive question at a recent White House briefing."

Two things:

First, they should have Cameron Kasky on their show again, if possible. He seemed cool.

Second, every time they said Buttigieg, the auto-captioning translated that as "Buddha Judge," which was fairly amusing.
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. On today's episode, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan discuss the Trump administration's ongoing, lawless kidnappings, Kilmar Abrego Garcia and other disappeared individuals, and why Democrats should not avoid this issue. They also talk about Elon Musk's weird 'legion' compound and RFK Jr's offensive comments about people with autism."

This is the first time I've watched an episode of the extra podcast associated with Some More News. I might start making this a regular thing. Maybe. I'd almost prefer it to the official show, in many respects. Certainly way less puppets (well, aside from Warmbo being creepily in the background of every fullscreen shot with Cody, anyway) and skits, at any rate.

Yeah, I read an article about Senator Chris Van Hollen's trip to El Salvador to see Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and the last sentence in that article was "Some high-profile Democrats have opted to keep the focus on the economic backlash to Trump's sweeping tariffs, which polling suggests is much more of a political liability to the president than his ongoing efforts to deport immigrants." Which is just asinine. Come on, guys, you can uselessly, performatively hand-wring and pearl-clutch about more than just one thing at a time, you know, you fucking milquetoast namby-pambies.

Ah... so that is real reason why Elon Musk bought Twitter? How fucking bizarre and putrid.

Also, holy shit, I've never actually heard RFK Jr. talk before. I mean, I kind of wanted to make fun of it, because RFK Jr. is a fucking ghoul, but I looked up the reason why, and I'm not going to mock the guy for having a neurological disorder. I'm not (thank the heavens) Donald Trump, after all. Besides, there's plenty of other things to mock RFK Jr. for, such as his completely dumbshit, vile beliefs about vaccines and autism.
kane_magus: (Default)

"John Oliver discusses the ongoing chaos surrounding Donald Trump and tariffs, why the past week could have lasting repercussions, and why your grandma might be looking to start an OnlyFans."

(NB4 Trump tries to deport John Oliver.)

In this episode, Mr. Oliver learns that the president of Nintendo is literally named Bowser and would love to devote a lot more time to that but is sad that he has to talk about Trump math instead.

Honestly, seeing those dumbfucks on Faux Noise disingenuously trying to defend Trump's dumbshit angered me more than seeing Trump directly speaking the dumbshit, and I'm not even sure why. (Though I can take a guess.) All of it was fucking asinine, but the Faux Noise clips still bothered me more than the straight up Trump clips did.

Also, John Oliver referring to JD Vance and his "Chinese peasants" comments and China's reaction to that: "I guess, in a way, it's reassuring to know that, despite our differences, the American and Chinese people can come together to agree that it is fun to dunk on this cursed, cabbage patch bitch."

And yeah, Chuck Grassley, Trump is the dog that caught the car. The dog that all you stupid motherfuckers called with your fucking dog whistles.

I could see Trump putting a massive tariff on mangoes, simply because he's mad that people keep calling him Mango Mussolini (among many, many other things).

I'm kind of surprised, however, that Mr. Oliver didn't make any mention at all of this shit, which is a cartoon parodying the fact that Trump literally told people on """""Truth""""" Social to "buy now" a few hours before putting the 90 day pause on his dumbshit tariffs, which is an obvious case of insider trading if ever there was one.

"Dear John Oliver, kindly go pound sand" (EDIT) Just replaced the link to the actual Christian Post website with an archive.is version of it, because I don't want to direct any more traffic to that piece of shit website. (/EDIT)

Saw that dumbfuckery show up in my Google News app, which was shat out in response to a recent episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, because Google wrongly believed I wanted to see worse-than-worthless dreck from a birdcage liner like The Christian Post. Needless to say, I very quickly corrected that mistaken assumption by Google. Also reported it for being "Misleading or sensational" and "Hateful or abusive" (wish now I'd also included the "Violent or repulsive" option), which was cathartic (as is this post here), though I seriously doubt Google will actually do anything about it.

(At least this Kaeley Harms has an appropriate last name, anyway, given that she absolutely "Harms" trans people, and intentionally so, by publishing hateful horseshit like that.)
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. Uh oh! In this episode – which we wrote and shot before the current tariff/market troubles – we look at how the U.S. and other nations measure economic success, and how that often doesn't square with our individual experiences of The Economy."

(Yes, I foresee that many future episodes will likely need a "Sorry, but we recorded this video before Trump went and made things even worse" disclaimer in front of it. Even without taking the most recent, even worse bullshit into consideration, though, the above video is still fucking dire.)

So people thought the economy was terrible during Biden's presidency, when it actually wasn't that bad? Gee, I wonder, could that be because Donald Trump and Donald Trump's asinine lickspittles spewed lies about it for four solid years (and, you know, actively torpedoed it during the previous four solid years [thanks in part to COVID and to Trump's abysmally nadiral response to COVID], as a kind of practice run for what they're doing now)? Yes, that is why.

And yeah, none of that really matters that much, because bragging that inflation is going down is, indeed, kind of like bragging that the amount of piss in the soup you serve is going down. Even if you weren't the one who pissed in all the soup to begin with. People are still going to blame you for serving piss-filled soup. And then, you know, maybe reelect the original soup-pisser, so that he can now not only piss in the soup but straight up take a diarrhetic shit in it, too. For some reason.

Or maybe we can switch up the metaphor from piss soup to instead be about a train speeding in the wrong direction, which Biden managed to slow down but not actually stop. A Trump Train, if you will. That works, too. And now, that guy has been put back in the driver's seat, again. Go goddamned figure.

I'll just say it, again (same as Cody says it here). If the economy was "good" under Trump (until he wrecked it), it was thanks to Obama. And if the economy was "bad" under Biden (until he kind of almost sort of fixed it but not really), it was "thanks" to Trump. And if the economy is "good" under Trump II... nah, I can't even finish that, because he hasn't even completed his "first 100 days" yet, and he's already fucking launched a trilithium missile at the economy. I wonder if Trump thinks the Nexus is going to absorb him as a result. Who knows? Trump is a delusional motherwannabe-daughterfucker, after all. In any case, he'll be leaving behind a shattered economy, regardless.

Democrats, generally, are better for the economy than the GQP is. Yet... we keep electing GQP dumbshits to positions of power. Why is that? *shrug* I'unno. I guess because, as Cody says, what the Democrats do is good, but not good enough. And, thus, fickle voters kick them out to give the other side a try, again, even though the other side has been consistently, demonstrably worse, every time. The only thing that has been truly consistent throughout the past 3 or 4 decades or more, though, is that the obscenely rich have gotten obscenely richer and the downtrodden poor have gotten more downtrodden and more poor. Prices continue to creep up and wages continue to remain mostly stagnant. And yeah, there are way more subscription services (and all that other stuff that Cody mentioned) than there used to be. *eye roll, but not really*

People (wrongly) see Trump as the solution to "the bigger picture," even though he clearly has made, clearly is making, and clearly will continue to make everything so very much worse. Because he's a liar and a grifter and a conman and a criminal who only cares about one person, and that person is Donald Trump. And he's also a complete and total fucking dumbass who has absolutely zero clue what the hell he's doing, being coattails-ridden and heavily influenced by vile, disgusting, evil shitsmears on the underwear of humanity who absolutely do know what they're doing, and what they're doing is vile, disgusting, and evil. There's that, too. (And that's not even bringing Putin into the picture, though that, too, is definitely a factor in play here. Very little would tickle Putin's pecker than to see the US economy bottom out as a direct result of the actions taken by his obvious puppet.)

Anyway, yeah, an economy based on all growth, all the time, is completely unsustainable in the long run. But... well, as long as it makes billionaires even richer in the short run... what can the rest of us do about it? *shrug* (Hmm, I wonder when Some More News will do a two-hour episode about Peter Thiel. Assuming they haven't already and I just missed it.)
