Or, at least, why isn't it fighting back more effectively? This post here is in response to yet another banal, asinine headline I saw in my Google News app that I'm not even going to provide a link to here, something about how "Texas is coming for 'woke' insurance companies next" or some such dumbshit. I didn't read the article because I didn't feel like I needed to read the article, because it's the same fucking horse manure that I've been seeing for the past few years now. (EDIT) So I looked a bit into that "'woke' insurance companies" dumbfuckery, and apparently this is the "woke" bee that is currently in the bonnet of those Texas fucksticks. Go figure. (/EDIT)
And, really, I'm not just talking about this latest "menace" (according to RWNJs anyway) of "wokeism." It was the same when it was called "cancel culture." It was the same when it was called "SJWs." It was the same when it was called "political correctness." It doesn't matter what it's called. All that matters is that bigoted assholes are going to fight, tooth and nail, against anything that stands in the way of their unfettered "right" to continue being bigoted assholes.
So, the point I'm trying to make here, or rather, the question that I'm trying to ask here is: Why are these bigoted, RWNJ asshats always so successful in their crusades against "wokeism" and the like? Why are they always so successful in subverting these buzzwords into worse-than-uselessness? Why are they so successful in taking these things and making them into the next big boogeyman that (they think) is the worst threat to civilization ever? And, mostly, why are the "woke" (or the "SJWs" or whatever) so singularly unsuccessful at fighting back against this blatant bullshit? Is it really just a hard and fast rule that humans, by their very nature, are going to be bigoted assholes, and it's futile to try to change the nature of a man?
I don't know. I don't have any answers here. All I know is that it is rather frustrating to see this song and dance played out time and time again. Something like "political correctness" enters the public discourse and within a few years it has become (what RWNJs see as) an evil that must be fought with every fiber of one's being. Something like the concept of "canceling" celebrities who misbehave is corrupted into "cancel culture," which RWNJs will go out of their way to belittle and destroy. Something like the concept of being "woke" comes along, and the RWNJs circle their fucking wagons and treat it like it's some sort of alien invasion that they've got to battle to the death. It's just so enervating.
Is it really so difficult to just... ...not be bigoted assholes?
(EDIT) Or maybe it's just that "woke" people realize that there is no value whatsoever to be found in trying to argue with or convince RWNJs of anything at all, and as such they don't even bother to try, because they know full well that RWNJs are already "determined as to the facts they will believe, and the opinions on which they will act." That could be it. (/EDIT)
