Actual full headline: "Disco Elysium fans blast 'absolutely demonic' ZA/UM execs for new photo mode: 'it wasn't enough to rob the creators of their own work, you had to turn it into this meme ridden sludge, too'"
Yeah... I saw that collage mode thing, and my first thought was "What is this shit? This seems really dumb." However, for once, I actually wasn't cynical enough, at least at first, to tie this into the whole legal battle between the actual creators of Disco Elysium and the company that essentially stole itself and the IP out from under said creators. I just thought it was an inane, tone deaf update for a game I liked, but yeah, the whole "attempting to distract" thing makes sense, in retrospect.
While I still think that Disco Elysium is an amazing game, I would not recommend giving those thieves (i.e. current ZA/UM) a fucking dime for it, at least not while the original creators are being cut out. I'm not saying don't play it, mind you. I'm just saying don't give money to current ZA/UM for it. ¬_¬
