For a free game released for April Fools' Day, this is actually a pretty solid game. It's kind of like Ace Attorney meets... well... Sonic the Hedgehog. Most of the game is a visual novel "murder" mystery, but there are several points where you play a little Sonic mini game where you have to collect a certain number of rings while avoiding obstacles before reaching the end of the track. All the mini game bits are basically practice for the end of the game, where you have to do something like ten or fifteen levels of it, back-to-back.

Honestly, I much preferred the visual novel part to the action part. They could have left the action bits out entirely, and it still would have been a solid game, as far as I'm concerned. Fortunately, there are accessibility options to make the action-y bits less difficult, if needed. (I ultimately didn't need them, but I was definitely starting to consider some of them before it was all said and done, I'll admit.)

I finished it in a bit over three hours. It was pretty cool, I have to say. Certainly the best Sonic the Hedgehog game I've played in literally decades. Granted, that's because it's the only one I've played in literally decades. ¬_¬
