Full headline, thanks a lot, once again, shitty Dreamwidth subject field length: "CD Projekt Red insists that Cyberpunk 2077's launch wasn't that bad, but 'it became a cool thing not to like it'"

Why yes, indeed, that certainly does sound like something a disingenuous PR empty suit would say about the incredibly shitty and disastrous launch of his company's thoroughly mediocre video game, for sure.

"That was [a] tough moment. We didn't know what was happening." Right, and that was precisely part of the problem. You didn't know what the fuck was happening. Or, more likely, you absolutely did know exactly what the fuck was happening, and yet you decided to prematurely release a literally broken, unplayable mess of a so-called "video game" regardless (and it wasn't just the console versions that were broken trash), and you are only now pretending to be "shocked" that it went over so poorly and are deceitfully trying to claim "buhbuhbut it ackchyually wasn't that bad tho no really."

I've said it before, and I'll probably be given reason to say it again: Seedy Projekt (Red or otherwise) is demonstrably not the paragon/savior of the video game industry that far too many duped fanboys (like some of the ones in the comments under that article) try to make it out to be.

(Disclaimer: I have not played Cyberpunk 2077 as of yet, as I haven't seen it on a severely steep enough sale, either on GOG itself or on Steam, to justify a purchase of it. Even if I never see it on a good enough sale, I doubt I'll be missing much.)
