Yeah, Woolie spitting mad truths here.

I've had problems with Q-Tips (or the generic equivalents as Woolie mentions) in the past, on more than one occasion, because until relatively recently, I was stupidly continuing to use that shit. Same with using earplugs (like those cheap yellow foam pieces of shit, or even the "better" ones).

For me, the problem consisted of pushing wax crap farther in, which ended up making it more difficult to hear out of the ear in question (as in it was actually muffled, as if I were perpetually wearing an earplug or some shit), either for several days until the situation eventually resolved itself without further interaction from me, or else resolved itself when I got fed up with it and did things like squirting baby oil and/or rubbing alcohol (initially I used an OTC med I bought that was claimed to be specifically designed for that purpose, but you don't need that shit) directly into my ear with an eyedropper, letting it sit for like 10-15 minutes with my head tilted awkwardly to the side, and then flushing it all out with warm water (via a little rubber suction balloon/ball/thing).

It ain't great, that's for sure. Don't stick shit in your ears.

I've never had a bug crawl into my ear, though, thank the simulation.
