After listening to some music that [personal profile] scissorsevered posted, over here, it got me to thinking about some of the stuff I've tinkered with over the decades. Nothing original, per se, mostly just video game... um... to call them "covers" or "remixes" would be charitable. Meh, I'll just post links here. All via my Google Drive.

(Also, um, maybe a volume warning on some of these, particularly the first one, because even after I normalized the volume on them, they still rather loud to me on Google's player thing.)

- Mother_1_and_2.mp3: This was originally a MIDI file (just now converted to mp3 via OpenMPT and then [re]normalized with Audacity) that I made... uh... last date modified on the MIDI file says March 11, 2003, which I guess sounds about right. (That would have been while I was still living in NC, a little over a year before I moved to WA for 9 years, before moving back to NC.) It's basically just the Mother 1/EarthBound Beginnings title music with the "Eight Melodies" bits from Mother 1/EB Beginnings (or EarthBound Zero, if you prefer) and Mother 2/EarthBound threaded in at the start and at the end. Done entirely by ear with an old, defunct piece of software (that I believe was just called "MIDI Studio" and which doesn't even function in a 64-bit OS, or at least the old-ass version of it that I have doesn't, anyway). It was made simply by plunking down notes and moving them around until it sounded mostly right (at least to me). The neat thing about this one, I thought, was how well the two different Eight Melodies bits sounded together, at least when one is offset from the other by a second or two.

- Theme of Adon (SFA, Gold, SSF4).mp3: This one is just three different versions of Adon's theme, from Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, and Super Street Fighter 4. For the SSF4 one, I pitch/tempo shifted it up so that it matched as closely as I could get it (by ear) to the original versions of the theme in SFA/SFA2. (I prefer the original version[s] to the slower/lower-pitched version in SSF4.) Basically the first two versions were played on top of each other with a bit of stereo separation, and then faded into the pitch/tempo up-shifted SSF4 thing, and then faded back to the SFA2/Gold versions. Made entirely with Audacity.

- Theme of Gen (SFA, Gold, SSF4).mp3: This one is basically the same thing as the one above, except it's three different versions of Gen's theme (again, from SFA2, SFA2 Gold, and SSF4). This one is somewhat less interesting than the previous one because I didn't do much other than just fade the first into the second and then, a bit less effectively, into the third one. I didn't have to do any pitch changing weirdness with the SSF4 version this time, for instance. Again, made with Audacity.

- Lastly, here are five different versions of the themes of Gouki and Gouken (both from Street Fighter 4). Originals here. (I favor the two that separate them a little bit, rather than the one with no pan at all or the two with complete left/right separation. Also, I prefer Gouki/Akuma on the right and Gouken on the left, for whatever reason, but that's just me.) Aside from mashing them together and putting varying levels of stereo panning between the two of them, the only other edit I made was removing a short two-beat pause from Gouken's theme, because otherwise that messed up the sync between the two themes. Purely Audacity, again.

...

And, just for shits and giggles, here is a version of the Theme of Galactus from Marvel vs Capcom 3 that I made, with is just the normal theme, except with Galactus voice clips edited into it. (Galactus wins in the end. *shrug*)

So yeah, assuming I got those Google Drive links working correctly (I tested them while logged out of my own account, and I was still able to access them, at least), that's pretty much it. There are a couple more old MIDI things that I could have uploaded and linked to here, but I chose not to, because they suck absolute ass. ¬_¬
