For those on my f-list going to DigiPen, did anyone else receive an email dated 12/18/2007 to their DigiPen accounts from a prcgsandy@comcast.net with the subject of "SOS 399"? If so, did you get an actual valid email or did you get the same "WARNING: bad headers - Header line longer than 998 characters" stuff that I did? Is this something I should be concerned with or just spam that I can safely disregard?
From what I can tell, it seems that at least
djafwe,
strphnx,
lexdysic04, and
echidna9686 were apparently supposed to have also received it, at least based on the semi-garbled header info (though whoever sent it seems to have gotten your email wrong, Zach, so you may not have gotten it at all).
(UPDATE)
Never mind, it was nothing vitally important. I opened the included attachment, and it contained what was apparently the body of the email, which was:
Digipen is offering a 'Special Topics' class this Spring titled SOS 399 A Systems Approach to Serious Games with Dr Ruth Fruland as the instructor. I would like to encourage you to consider adding this very special offering to your class load. I think you will find the course content interesting and very different from most other courses currently taught here at Digipen. The class will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM until 3:50 PM.
This class will emphasize applications of systems thinking and dynamics to creating game environments (computational, extensible, interactive, expressive, and persuasive) that foster learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and change. You can see the complete course description on the SRS Academic Notice bulletin board as well as a vita for Dr. Fruland.
Enjoy your holidays,
Prof. Schafer
