I changed my DigiPen schedule again today.

I dropped CS 460 and signed up for CS 370 instead. The benefits to this, from my perspective at least, are several.

1) CS 460, at least based upon the first lecture, sounded like it was going to be brutal. While the material sounded fairly interesting and all, quite frankly, I am not in the mood to be ass-raped by a class this semester if I can at all avoid it, and CS 460 sounded like it was going to be bringing the corn cob but leaving out the lube. CS 370, by comparison, at least based upon how it was described to me by a guy on my GAM team who is taking it, sounded like it would be fairly easy, relatively speaking.

2) CS 370 is apparently going to be taught using C#, with no expectation that students coming into the class will have any prior experience with C#. C# is one of those things that I honestly should have already learned to use on my own, but which I have not yet taught myself to use, so this class will give me an incentive to finally get off my ass and do so.

3) CS 370, as described by my fellow GAM team member, sounds like it may dovetail fairly nicely with Hao Wu's CS 420 class.

4) Last, but not least, CS 460 was at 11:00am-12:20pm on Tuesday/Thursday. CS 370, on the other hand, is at 4:00pm-5:20pm on Tuesday/Thursday. This is immediately after my MAT 340 class, which runs from 2:30pm-3:50pm on Tuesday/Thursday. This means that a) I no longer have to get up before 10:00am in order to be at school by 11:00am, and b) the awkward 2 hour gap that existed between CS 460 and MAT 340 is eliminated. Additionally, both MAT 340 and CS 370 are being taught in Curie, which is nice.

For anyone else who was in the same boat as me (i.e. originally signed up for CS 399 but then boned because they canceled it and suddenly in need of another class to take), there are still 11 slots available for CS 370 as of right now according to SRS, if you want to follow suit.

Hopefully, this will be the last time my schedule will be changed this semester, either by me or by the school. While I've had previous schedules altered by the school for various reasons, I've never felt the need to drop/add classes myself. This semester, however, I've already done so five times now.

The only slight downside is that I now have a CS 460 textbook which I no longer need.
