Two things I happened to see in my Google News app a little while ago:

"Obama calls Jimmy Kimmel suspension 'government coercion'"

"Star Trek Actor Tim Russ Mocks Charlie Kirk's Death With Captain Kirk Image"

One of these things is obviously much more serious than the other, but they're both examples of MAGA's backlash over the Charlie Kirk murder and their use of it as a justification to continue doing that thing they were already doing anyway even before Charlie Kirk got shot, which is to attempt to silence those they perceive to be enemies. In other words, they're hypocritically trying to take away the First Amendment rights of those with whom they have grievances. You know... the First Amendment... that very thing for which Charlie Kirk (ostensibly) was some supposed great champion? *eye roll*

Also, I have something to say about William Shatner's seemingly innocuous comments mentioned in that second link there:

"Just because someone believes something different than you do shouldn't make them targets. Accept that they don't see your views & move on. It's differing viewpoints that make life interesting & makes the world go round... unless you believe the earth is flat; then I guess it just sits there."

I fully agree that just having "differing viewpoints" shouldn't get you murdered.

However, the "differing viewpoints" of far too many raging asshats are that all brown people should be deported (or be killed), or that all trans people should be institutionalized (or be killed), or that all homeless people should also be institutionalized (or be killed), or that all same sex couples should lose their right to be married (or be killed), or that all women should lose the right to vote and do nothing but dutifully pump out babies (or be killed), or that all black people should be re-enslaved or sent back to Africa (or be killed), or that anyone and everyone should be just fine with potentially being shot (and being killed) by a gun to support the Second Amendment. At least some of those "differing viewpoints" were, in fact, spewed by Charlie Kirk himself. If those are the "differing viewpoints" that Mr. Shatner is referring to, then no, I really don't think we should just "accept that" and "move on." Those "differing viewpoints" do not "make life interesting" nor do they "make the world go round." They turn life and the world into a hellish nightmare that we need to fight back against. Especially when the aforementioned raging asshats are in positions of power in our government, both low and high, up to and including the highest of all, which is currently occupied by an orange puddle of diarrhea badly masquerading as a human being (with apologies to both actual diarrhea and actual human beings for the unfair comparison).

Hell, I'd prefer it if the "differing viewpoints" were just silly dumbshit like the world is flat or whatever.

And as for Robert Beltran... meh. He has apparently well and truly proven himself by this point to just be a full on MAGA fuckhead whose opinions don't even really merit consideration at all anymore. Fuck Chakotay. I'm not saying that he should be murdered or even that he should have his right to spew stupid horseshit be removed. I'm just saying we shouldn't pay attention to his moronic ass when he does spew stupid horseshit.
