So, note to self (and hopefully note to anyone else reading this): avoid any new movies that involve Roger Avary in any way from now on, I guess. (Besides, even ignoring the AI dumbshit, anyone in 2026 CE who willingly appears as a guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience" deserves to be shunned, just for that alone.)

Of course, given that the three so-called """""features""""" in question here are "'a family Christmas movie that'll be in theaters this holiday season,' a 'faith-based movie for next Easter' and a 'big romantic war epic,'" I think I would've been quite safe from ever seeing any of these, even if I hadn't known they were made with AI.

What's more insidious, of course, are all the other """""movies""""" that are most assuredly being made like this, except by slightly smarter scumbags who don't proudly boast about doing it beforehand.

Not familiar with the "Save the Cat!" thing. The closet thing I found was this and the (apparently) associated website, but Google results searching for it as it relates to AI is spotty at best. Seems like a lot of people using it in conjunction with ChatGPT, though, which sure doesn't sound great.

So... despite myself, I watched that "AI Brad Pitt vs Tom Cruise" thing they mentioned in the Roger Avary article... except that the version I happened to see had an extra scene at the end...

...aside from them having the Brad Pitt bot scream "You killed Jeffrey Epstein, you animal! He was a good man!" which was utterly ridiculous, it has gotten to the point where I pretty much can't really tell what's AI and what's not, anymore. It's only going to get more difficult with every passing year. I still don't want to watch AI-created movies at all, but I'm not sure I would even know anymore, even if I did. I mean, unless the creator brags about it like it's great before the movies ever release, as Roger Avary did here, in which case it's rather easy to avoid.

Ah, so it's basically the movie version of "I'm going to paint something on a blank canvas," except more like "I'm going to put colors between the lines on this same coloring book that everyone else is also using."

Weirdly, Jennifer Zhang is (or at least was, as of 2023) associated with that "Save the Cat!" thing, too, apparently. It's a bit surreal for me to see her name and picture in this context, since I only ever knew of her from her two Street Fighter parody fanfilms (and associated music video) from around 15 years ago.
