Had a fairly surreal experience last night. Three things happened.

First of all, I woke up only 40 minutes or so after I went to bed but, upon looking at the clock, was absolutely convinced that I had been in bed not for just 40 minutes but for 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Contributing to this was the second issue, being that my room was filled with light. That's why I thought it was daylight already. However, I quickly noted that this light was pulsing.

The third thing was the weirdest of all. For a period of around thirty seconds to a couple of minutes or so, I had absolutely no idea where I was. Oddly, though, rather than this being alarming, I found myself clinically "observing" the phenomenon while simultaneously trying to remember just where I was. I think I'd read something about it happening to people sometimes when they first wake up for various reasons, and I just found it interesting rather than scary that it was happening to me.

Well, I eventually realized that only 40 minutes had passed and remembered where I was, so that only left the issue of the weird light. I finally got up and went to see what it was. It turned out to be the Wii. It was in the other room, but I must have bumped it on the way to bed or something because it was turned to face partially into the bedroom door. That pulsing blue light can be rather bright in the dead of night. (Yes, I know you can change the brightness setting on that light, but it hasn't bothered me before so I usually just keep it at the brightest setting.)

The next day after reading this I had something similar. I woke up at 7, having gone to bed early at 1:40am-ish. (yeah that's very early for me.) It was dark outside still. Rain was pelting the window. And for the life of me I couldn't convince myself that it was still 7am. (like I'm even capable of sleeping 18hrs. >_>;) I had to use both the alarm clock and go out to the computer and check the computer time to verify it was, in fact, the morning.

I don't think I've had that issue of not knowing where I was that bad. Sometimes it won't click for a few seconds til I look around the room - mostly due to my having the occational dream where I wake up in my bedroom, only a different bedroom. I've mentioned that string of waking dreams before tho. ^_-) Now that I think about it, it's probably possible that I've had that effect for an extended period before, but for the life of me I can't remember a particular time if any existed. It's mostly just the feeling it's happened more than actually remembering it.
