So, I'm a few minutes now into trying out that Pandora thing. Naturally, among the first things I tried were "Nobuo Uematsu", "Yasunori Mitsuda", and "Akira Yamaoka". No luck. Expected about as much.
"They Might Be Giants" were in there though, and I'd have been disappointed if they weren't. The first song it played was "The End of the Tour." After that it started playing a song called "Self" by someone(s) called "The Dude Of Life & Phish". I've never heard of him/them before, but I have to admit they sound remarkably similar to They Might Be Giants. Now it's playing a song called "San Antonia, TX" by "Frank Black and The Catholics". It's not as reminiscent of They Might Be Giants as the first song was... a bit to country/gospel for my tastes. Still... I can kind of sort of see how it could be considered similar. Very interesting.
I think I'll try "Five Iron Frenzy" later. Maybe "Aphex Twin", too. I wonder if they'll have "Minibosses" or other video game-related bands... Maybe... heck, I could probably think of plenty of stuff to try if I really get into it.
This site has much potential, methinks.
