Okay, I know that most of us (those who care, at least) have probably already heard about Star Wars: Empire at War.

However, has anyone else heard about Star Trek: Legacy before now?

(EDIT)

Though, while this game may have the potential to be incredibly cool, I'd honestly prefer to see an actual, honest-to-goodness RPG set in the Star Trek universe, rather than yet another RTS game. Why hasn't there been a Star Trek RPG yet? This almost seems like a no-brainer to me, yet there hasn't been one. About the closest they've come so far are the classic, old-school adventure games, like 25th Anniversary, Judgment Rites, and A Final Unity, and those games were awesome. But no bona fide RPG yet. I just don't get it. I mean, the Star Wars franchise has the two Knights of the Old Republic games (with a very good possibility for a third one at some point) and those absolutely freaking rocked.

Besides, Star Trek hasn't had too much luck with RTS games in the past, either. I enjoyed Armada well enough, but haven't been able to get into Armada II really, the few times that I've tried to play it. And the less that is said about the steaming pile of dog shit that was New Worlds, the better.

On the bright side, given that it is Bethesda Softworks who now has exclusive rights to the Star Trek franchise, I think the odds that we could potentially see a Star Trek RPG at some point in the (hopefully near) future are fairly high.

(EDIT 2)

Interestingly enough, Penny Arcade mentions Legacy in today's news post, which I only saw just now.

And yes indeed, Tycho, the fact that Bethesda also has the rights to Fallout had most certainly not escaped my notice. No sir. *salivates*

Hu has paused, in the middle of class, and is playing "One More Minute" by Weird Al Yankovic. For no apparent reason whatsoever.

As has been said by others, the man is insane. Absolutely batshit.

I don't know whether to laugh hysterically, or weep over the lost time that I could have been spending on more important (though not necessarily more interesting) things.

Oh, and more seriously, earlier in the class he claimed to have been absolutely amazed that someone had used the line "#pragma comment(lib,"ws2_32.lib")" in their client/server assignment. He said that he'd never even seen something like that before.

Sam from Sam and Max: Hit the Road said it best: "I am filled with disgust and an odd sense of foreboding."
