"Hi. Donald Trump is saying and tweeting some very wild things about the U.S. Constitution, Star Wars, and beautiful baby dolls, so today, Katy, Cody, and Jonathan dig into all the weird stuff he said over the weekend. They also discuss the horrific state of Gaza and ICE's increasing aggression."

Yeah, Donald Trump being depicted with a red lightsaber seems about right.

Also, yeah, who could have possibly predicted that, after Trump became President, things would definitely get worse in Gaza and for anyone in the US who is even remotely expressing concern with how things are going in Gaza?

And holy shit. Wow, okay, this is indeed pretty fucking horrendous: "'We're citizens!': Oklahoma City family traumatized after ICE raids home, but they weren't suspects"

Nuremberg showed us that "just following orders" is not a valid defense for committing war crimes. I hope this eventually bears out for all the rank and file asshats currently committing atrocities (accidentally or intentionally) in the name of Donald Trump[1], as well. But then, it's not as if the latter group will ever actually be held accountable for their heinous bullshit actions in the first place, any more than their fucking God Emperor ever will either[1], so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously, though, at what point can we consider that Donald Trump has finally crossed the line? Does there even still exist a line for him to cross anymore? (I mean, I would say that the line was crossed and left well behind him way back during his first term, and that he should have been [but was not] appropriately punished for it back then, and this second term is just him now sprinting full tilt[2] even farther beyond said line. But what I believe doesn't matter at all, not even a little bit. It will only ever matter if Trumpanzees somehow think he's crossed the line, which seems increasingly unlikely to ever happen, because they're mostly hunky-dory with every fucking vile thing the disgusting shit-for-brains does. Here's to hoping that I am eventually proven wrong on that count and that enough of these people finally do turn against Trump, and against anyone and everyone even remotely within smelling distance of Trump.)

Anyway, in conclusion, to hell forever with Donald Trump, as usual.

[1] - Not that Trump himself will ever be held accountable, mind you. He'll probably be long dead before any serious attempts to do so can ever come to pass. I guess we'll just have to be content with the definite knowledge that he'll be viewed by posterity in a similar way that most (sane) people objectively view monsters like Hitler and Stalin nowadays.

[2] - Figuratively speaking, of course, since we all know it's not physically possible for Donald Junkass Trump to do much more than toddle, let alone "sprint full tilt."

"Hi. Companies owned by Elon Musk are now essential to how nations explore space and get connected on satellite internet. Perhaps Musk and other billionaires shouldn't be able to do unfettered capitalism in the cosmos? Especially when they claim to be driven and inspired by stories of moneyless space communism?"

Added the "middle-finger-worthy" tag right off the bat, just because it's all about Sissy SpaceX.

Yeah, calling Musk "the greatest capitalist in the history of the United States of America" is most certainly not the wonderful thing all those chodes think it is. And you'd think that Donald Trump would look dimly on Phony Stark horning in on his turf like that. Both of those guys could fit the title of "greatest capitalist in the history of the United States of America." As long as we all agree that that is a grievous insult, mind you, and not, like, a positive thing to call someone.

(EDIT 6) Infinite Craft. Because I forgot to actually include the link until now. (/EDIT 6)

Apparently, I am the first person to discover "The Battle of Wolf 359."

I may update this more if I get more "first discovery" things.

(EDIT)

Okay. I got "Question" somehow. When I combined that with "Captain Kirk," I got "Who" as a result, for some reason. When I combined "Who" with "Time Travel" I got "Doctor." But then... "Doctor" and "Who" is apparently an invalid combination? Lame.

(/EDIT)

(EDIT 2) "Captain" and "America" doesn't give "Captain America." However, for whatever reason, "America" and "Superman" gives "Captain America." Go figure. (/EDIT 2)

(EDIT 3)

I'm not going to make a whole lot more edits to this, but I'll just say this: if you ever get "Paradox" or "Question," they're really helpful to getting a bunch of other weird shit when combined with other things. Also, "Good" and "Evil" are good for getting the opposite of things. I'm kind of trying to see if I can actually get "Opposite" as a thing, though I haven't yet.

(/EDIT 3)

(EDIT 4)

Okay, one more and then I'm done for now: I manged to get "Politician." When I combined it with "Villain" (which I got a while back, while messing around with the superhero stuff above), the result was "Trump," and the image associated with "Trump" was 💩 (i.e. the poop emoji). It's going to be hard to top that.

Some additional stuff with that...
  • "Trump" and "Paradox" gives "Reality" as a result.
  • "Trump" and "Evil" just gives "Trump" again. (A lot of combinations seem to do that, so it may not mean anything.)
  • "Trump" and "Question" gives "Fake News."
  • "Trump" and "Hell" gives "President." (I got "Trump" somehow before I got "President," since that was a new one.)
  • "Trump" and "White House" gives "Prison."
  • "Trump" and "Food" gives "McDonalds" (another new one for me).
  • "Trump" and "Doctor" gives "Quack."
And... fuck I already lost it, but I combined "Trump" with something I already forgot, because I was just trying random shit, and it gave me "Vlad." I quickly went to combine "Vlad" with "President" (that's how I forgot what had given "Vlad" in the first place) which gave me "Putin" (and I would've been disappointed if it hadn't). And combining "Trump" and "Putin" gave "Bromance" as a result. Yeah... whoever made this thing knows what's what, that's for sure.

I just wish I remembered what I combined with "Trump" to get "Vlad"... hold on... I thought it was near the top so it shouldn't take too long... let's see... and fuck it, I'll list any new or particularly funny combinations as I go.

Huge bunch of bullshit )

AH! THERE IT IS! "Trump" and "Dracula" gives "Vlad." I guess it wasn't near the top, after all. Okay, mystery solved. (May have more to do with "Dracula" than "Trump," I guess?)

Anyway, I'm gonna keep going, with the rest, including all the new shit above I unlocked with "Trump" combinations.

More bullshit )

And... I'm down to the bottom of all the ones I've unlocked so far, including all the shit that was unlocked by combining with "Trump."

...

...

...

...Yeah, I'm done for now.

(/EDIT 4)

(EDIT 5)

I somehow managed to unlock "💩 Donald Trump" (as opposed to just "💩 Trump") which raises a load more possibilities. For example, I unlocked "Stormy Daniels" by combining "Donald Trump" and "Adultery," and I unlocked "Incest" by combining "Donald Trump" with "Ivanka." ¬_¬ (Combining just "Trump" with "Ivanka" only gives [wrongly] "President.") And using "Incest" on "Donald Trump" unlocks "Ivanka Trump" (as opposed to just "Ivanka.")

Oh, and I also got "first discovery" on "Who is Donald Trump?"

Okay, that's enough for tonight. If I post about this Infinite Craft thing anymore, it will be in a new post.

(/EDIT 5)

This video is entirely ranting about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Aside from the title, I don't think they mention Redfall at all. And... I've heard some bad things about Jedi Survivor, but if even half of what Pat and Woolie say in this video is true, then it's far worse than I was aware. I'm not surprised or shocked by that in any way, mind you, it's just that I haven't really been keeping tabs on the game at all, outside of stuff like this. And though they're mostly focusing on the horrendous PC port of the game, they mention at several points that the console versions are just as fucked up broken in their own ways as well.

And on top of all of that, which Pat and Woolie don't even mention at all, the game is contaminated with the malware Denuvo on PC, because of course it is. (Which, yet again, is not disclosed on Steam [outside of the warning from the third party "Denuvo Games" curator, which wouldn't be seen by anyone who doesn't follow that curator], because, for whatever asinine reasons, Valve continually allows EA to get away with not doing that.) The Denuvo infection, in and of itself, is probably a not-at-all-insignificant part of the reason why it runs like dogshit. It's also reason #1 as to why I have zero interest in buying it, even ignoring the fact that it's still a broken piece of shit otherwise, regardless.

I bought the first game in the series, Fallen Order, back in December, when it was on a 88%-off sale, i.e. for $4.79 USD, a while after they wisened up and removed the Denuvo malware from it (because if it had still been defiled by that shit, I wouldn't have bought it for even $0.479 USD, let alone $4.79). It runs okay on my 10-15 year old PC. It's pretty fun. Mind you, I never finished it, but still. If and only if they ever get this new game into a working, optimized, non-Denuvo-infested state will I even begin to consider maybe someday getting it possibly in perhaps three to five-plus years or so.

In any case, at this point in time, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is like a textbook example of everything that is wrong with the modern video game industry.
kane_magus: (Default)
Wait, you mean that Star Wars creators dared to cast a non-white and/or non-male (both, in this case) actor in something Star Wars related? Well, shit, it's no wonder that the racist, misogynist, dumbfuck segment of the Internet (a very, very large segment indeed) had a poo-flinging tantrum over it, as they are forever wont to do. I mean, it seems like it's pretty much a Pavlovian response for those fucksticks at this point.
kane_magus: (Default)
One good thing about all this shit is that I've finally had an opportunity to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Solo: A Star Wars Story, which were the last two Star Wars movies that I hadn't had a chance to see until now. Both of them were pretty good. Way better than the typical haters claim them to be, at least.

(EDIT) Link to the actual image, in case Google Photos shits the bed yet again.

Man, fuck Google Photos. (/EDIT)

...are dumb.

Shaka, when the walls fell.

Also, Internet sucks, just, you know, in general.

So I was playing The Sims 4 just now, in the Star Wars thing. One of my sims (named "Kane Magus," naturally) had just completed a mission for the First Order and was just chilling out and chatting with Kylo Ren, as one does, when he (that is Kylo Ren) decided to autonomously hug Kane. So, that's a thing that happened.

(EDIT) Link to image because Google Photos has once again shit the (em)bed, and trying to fix the actual embeds is a Sisyphean task. (/EDIT)

"Hi. Today's video is about Cody's unforgiving hatred of Baby Nut and how corporations, who are not people, manipulate our emotions by pretending they are people so that they can take our stupid money."

I was completely unaware of the supposed death of Mr. Peanut or of the existence of this Baby Nut thing until watching that Some More News video. So... uh... thanks for that, Mr. Johnston? o_O

At this point, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if 4chan (or whatever it is that may currently fill 4chan's role as "anus of the Internet"[1]) has been running an ongoing, years-long campaign to invade the comments under the Star Trek and Star Wars Facebook pages or something...

...either that, or it's just the usual, generalized observation of "humans are fucking stupid and terrible" that explains it.

But then, as always, it would be rather difficult to tell the difference, either way.

[1] - Or maybe that spot has simply been usurped by Facebook itself by this point? *shrug*
kane_magus: (Default)
Yeah, I finally got around to watching the 2016 Ghostbusters movie the other day.

It's fine. It's good. It's mostly inoffensive. It's not great the way radical feminists would make it out to be, nor is it terrible the way Irredeemably Toxic Shithole-types would make it out to be either.

I also watched Star Trek Beyond a day or two before that. I was actually more annoyed with that than I was with Ghostbusters. As I've said elsewhere, at least when I said "Man, this is stupid" while watching Ghostbusters, at least it was done with a smile still on my face. Not so much with Beyond. It was far too action-y, as I feared from watching the trailer, and all the cutesy dumbshit like using Beastie Boys as a weapon and Kirk on a motorcycle and all that was just stupid. I did like the callbacks to Star Trek Enterprise in Beyond though. That was pretty neat.

Oh, and I watched The Force Awakens and Rogue One as well. Those were straight up great. For TFA, it did indeed show that the style of J.J. Abrams is much better suited to Star Wars than it was to Star Trek.

My main complaint, overall, was against the Wilhelm scream. (EDIT, years later) Since that link there no longer works, given that my original Twitter account no longer exists, the gist of that now non-existent Twitter thread, as best as I can recall now, is that I basically think the Wilhelm scream is overused, and its use will completely bring me right out of my suspension of disbelief when I'm watching something that uses it, similar to the Howie scream and the like. (/EDIT, years later)

Okay, I'll agree that the second game they played did indeed graphically look like shit, even for the time it was released, but still, as for the gameplay itself, this was just yet another one of their "It's not our fault that we have no fucking clue how to play this game and obviously didn't look at the instructions to figure out the controls, it's the game's fault because it was poorly designed" fiascos, much like the Indiana Jones video. It's getting rather tiresome to see them screw up so much in these videos. I mean, I don't mind watching people play games when they clearly have no idea what they're doing (I still enjoy watching Super Best Friends Play after all), but I like it far less when there's so much whining and blaming the game instead of their own incompetence, as was the case here.
kane_magus: (kanethumb1)
Hahahahahahahahaha...

If, however, those people are actually serious, rather than simply being trolling morons, then let me respond more appropriately:

Behind a cut due to excessively sized text, and because the lj-spoiler tag doesn't work on Dreamwidth )
kane_magus: (kanethumb1)

Let's see here... another excuse to plug Ghostbusters: The Video Game as the de facto Ghostbusters 3... agreement that the Star Wars prequels weren't as terrible overall as a lot of people make them out to be (though they were still bad, don't get me wrong, and I definitely agree far more with James that Phantom Menace was the worst of the three)... agreement that the Star Trek reboots (the second one, particularly) weren't as amazing as a lot of people make them out to be (and that the J.J. Abrams style should fit with Star Wars a lot better than it did Star Trek, so Star Wars 7 should be pretty good, hopefully)...

As for JonTron himself... eh... I can take him or leave him. Not a fan, but I don't dislike the guy either. Though I preferred the earlier video about the "video store" with Kyle Justin, I still enjoyed this one, too. I honestly don't know all that much about JonTron, really, since the only things I've seen with him were a couple of early episodes of Game Grumps from a few years ago (before I very quickly grew bored with Game Grumps, since I mostly just saw them as a cut-rate Two Best Friends Play, and even though I thought Egoraptor by himself was pretty cool, back in the day) and the recent guest appearances he did with James & Mike, so I may actually have to give him another shot. He's certainly far less annoying than PewDiePie, anyway (though that's not saying much, given that fingernails on chalkboard are also far less annoying than PewDiePie). (EDIT) No, it turns out that JonTron is an Irredeemably Toxic Shithole-type, so to hell with him. (/EDIT)
kane_magus: (kanethumb1)
Heh.

Note: that is a sad, lamenting heh and not an "I am amused by this" heh. I don't care about the Starwars Battlefront shit all that much, but the "Victims of EA" thing at the bottom certainly rings true for me. (EDIT) Personally, I'd change the "dates of death" on some of those companies, though. I'd consider the "dates of death" to actually be the years they were initially bought by EA (as is the case on there with BioWare), rather than the years that EA eventually shut them down (as is the case with Origin and such). For example, Origin's date of death should have been 1992, not 2004. Westwood's should have been 1998, not 2003. And so on. The later dates in those cases are simply when the zombies were finally shot in the head, that's all. (/EDIT)

I don't always agree with the antics of 4chan (case in point: GamerGate), but this is one of those rare cases where I can at least manage a "heh" at them, I suppose.

I can't view the other site, however, because I have noscript enabled and I don't trust 4chan enough to disable it for them. The first link up there is still viewable even with noscript on (though I don't hear "Komm Susser Tod" playing on the site because of noscript).
kane_magus: (The_Sims_Medieval)
The Humble Bundle going on right now is a shitload of Star Wars games, with more to be added next week. I'd say this Bundle is worth it just for KotOR 1 (i.e. a BioWare game made back in the days when BioWare was actually still awesome, before it started sucking ass) and KotOR 2, if nothing else, though I went ahead and paid the $12 to get all of them.

Seriously, KotOR is my second favorite BioWare game of all time, after Jade Empire, even ahead of the awesome Baldur's Gate series.
kane_magus: (The_Sims_Medieval)
I'm just going to post this right here, because I think it's one of the funniest things I've read in a while.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6

It's only marginally funnier if you've actually played Mount & Blade as I have, so if you haven't, don't feel like you're missing out on anything by reading the above. It'll still be funny.
