Welcome to the Internet
Mar. 2nd, 2006 12:15 amAlso, considering that I'm messing around with LJ now instead of studying like I should be, there's something that has been bugging me in a vague, off-hand, don't-really-give-a-shit manner. It seems to be the trend lately that anytime anyone posts something from X (where X can equal Penny Arcade, ytmnd.com, Google video, or whatever) to the DigiPen LJ, there are an inordinate flurry of replies to each thread in question that simply must, for reasons unknown to me, point out how much X sucks/is lame/is a waste of time/etc. Even better are the replies that simply decry the Internet in general. I honestly don't see the purpose in it, myself. It just seems really inane to me, and reflects poorly on the one doing the posting.
This is not to say, in any way, that posting random links from Penny Arcade, ytmnd.com, Google video, or whatever isn't just as inane, if not moreso, but at least I can get a chuckle out of those. Sometimes. All the snarky replies to such just annoy me, however, and I wish they would stop.
Of course, a post like this is about as likely to stop the snarky replies as the snarky replies are to stop the random link postings. So, naturally, from now on, I suppose I should make a post like this every single freaking time someone posts an asinine "that's lame" reply to a random link thread in the DigiPen LJ. *nods sagely*
