Huh...

Okay, it's almost 4:00am, my shit isn't working, I've got to be at the dentist tomorrow at 11:15am, and I don't have any more time to mess with this at the moment.

So, I'm going to post a couple of screen shots of the Visual Studio window from my CS420 homework that is due tomorrow by 6:30pm.

I'll spare my f-list )

Look at the watch window. Does that look weird to anyone else? The first character in that "data" string is an "H", and indeed data[index] shows up as "H". The next character is supposed to be an "F". However, data[index + 1] does not show an "F".

As you can see from the first code screen shot, it hits the break point inside the if statement for the "H", but in this particular instance, it never enters the if statement for the "F". Even though "F" should be the next thing to come up, in theory. With pretty much all of the other example files I've tried this with, it has worked. The images haven't all come out looking exactly correct, mind you, but they do at least decode for the most part. The one I'm using in this particular instance (the hw1_original.bmp from Prof. Wu's website, for those with access to that) however, is not.

Granted, it's really late and I'm probably just missing something incredibly asinine and obvious, but as I said, I'm no longer thinking straight and don't have any more time to mess with it. If anyone can share some insight into this, I would appreciate it.

Also, photobucket apparently likes to shrink images, so I apologize if that first screen shot may be a bit harder to read than entirely necessary.
