Windows gave me an error yesterday and suggested I run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, which I did. The first time, I just let it run the standard tests and then reboot back into Windows after 2 passes, and it said it didn't find anything wrong.

However, when I went to bed, I set it up to run the "extensive" tests and I set it to run infinitely. When I got up this morning, I saw that it was 90% through only the second pass (after having run for about 8 hours or so) and was saying that it had found errors, though it gave no really useful information at all other than "errors were found, contact your computer manufacturer." In this case, I guess the "computer manufacturer" would be me, given that I bought all the parts separately and put it together myself.

My computer still seems to be running mostly okay despite all that, but even so, I decided to just say screw it and buy some new RAM. As such, I just put in an order for 2 sets of this. I figured if I was going to be replacing my current amount of 4GB anyway, I might as well just go ahead and max it out already, based both on what the motherboard itself can handle and the fact that I'm running Windows Home Premium 64-bit, since both support a max of 16GB.

I think a lot of people (myself included) need/needed to read this. I'm the same way, honestly. I complain a lot (justifiably so, I believe) about modern gaming, but if I just stop for a moment and take a look at it, I have to realize that it is still pretty frickin' awesome on the whole, despite those bad things about it.

Even the article's point #1. I almost had a knee-jerk "No, you're wrong. I was with you until that one." reaction to that one. But then, I recall that I'm now playing Minecraft multiplayer with [livejournal.com profile] owsf2000 and [livejournal.com profile] goldpseudo, and I honestly don't think I could ever go back to seriously playing it singleplayer. Add to that the fact that I'm really looking forward to the upcoming The Secret World (despite the fact that it is a MMO, the likes of which I am usually at best apathetic about and at worst downright adverse toward), and I have to believe that I'm starting to come out of my shell as far as multiplayer is concerned, at least a little bit. Sure, you won't ever find me playing Call of Duty with random douchebags on Xbox Live or whatever, but still...

Abobo's Big Adventure.

That is all.

LOLWUT.

No, seriously, what.

The dinosaurs pretty much rule the world now, it seems. Is it too much to wish for a giant meteorite to pay a visit?

Anyway, I wonder if they're going to sue for the entire world's GDP again this time?
