George Takei made a Facebook post about this site. Rather interesting. Whether she started off actually seriously looking for dudes on Tinder (a site/app that I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, myself, but good enough for who wants to use it, I guess) and decided to keep it real in the process, with the results being so horrendous that she felt compelled to post them to Instagram, or whether this whole thing is just some sort of social experiment or whatever from the get go, it doesn't really matter. Either way, she's putting the spotlight on some really scuzzy dudes and showing why feminism is a thing that needs to exist. If you need still more examples of why that is the case, just take a peek in the comments under George's post, as there's quite a bit of scuzz down there as well.
So... you know that "not all men" bullshit that guys tend to pipe up with when confronted with feminist concepts? That phrase which has indeed become such a joke nowadays, precisely because so many guys say it when facing stuff like this? Fuck that. The fact that there are any men at all who act like the dudebros in the above link is the problem in the first place. If you happen to be a man who isn't like that, who finds those dudebros just as appalling and disgusting as I do, then fine, great, it's not really about you. No need to get all offended. Just don't act like you deserve a medal simply because you're displaying what should be (but apparently isn't) baseline human decency. But then, at the same time, the fact that you are getting perturbed enough to feel the need to actively point out that you're not a dudebro like that (as if that will make the mean scary feminists and their mean scary ideas go away) means that it actually is about you, at least a little bit. If you respond to the very concept of feminism the same way a stereotypical vampire responds to holy water, then yeah, even if you may not be actively misogynistic in your everyday life, you are still part of the problem.
