As with the previous "Seth Abramson rants about David Axelrod" Twitter thread I posted, I think this is more Mr. Axelrod saying that this is what is going to happen, not that it is what should happen, and I don't necessarily disagree entirely. That said, Mr. Abramson is not wrong, either.

It's just that Trump and the Trumpanzees are going to do everything in their power, probably successfully, to try to make everyone forget about the impeachment once it's over, except insofar as Trump can use it to his own advantage, which he will most certainly try to do. (And his base, the real source of all of America's problems, will suck it right down through the sewer pipe directly connecting their lips and Trump's anus, and they will ask for even more, as usual.)

That said, I don't know one way or the other if David Axelrod is just calling it like he sees it, or if he has some sort of sinister ulterior motive here or what, as several people under this and the other thread have said. I kind of don't believe that's the case, but I could be wrong.

Also, just generally speaking, I don't have any faith in the Congressional Democrats to not completely shit the bed with the way they handle the impeachment and the inevitable aftermath (i.e. Trump's acquittal), as depressing and frustrating as that is to say. As usual, as always, I hope that I am 100% entirely wrong and that I will be pleasantly surprised by the good guys actually winning this one.

...and how the frog won't be able to tell he's in boiling water as long as you turn up the heat gradually.

This fully applies to Trump's base of Trumpanzees. They are too stupid and selfish and gullible to realize that they're sitting in a pot of boiling water. At this point, I don't even think they'll realize they're in a pot of boiling water even as it scalds the skin off of their bones. And even if they do realize it, they'll just keep stubbornly sitting in the boiling water "to own the libs."

For the rest of us, by this point, the water has almost boiled entirely away into vapor, and it has been fully doing so at least since November 8, 2016 and earlier, and we've been doing everything we can to try to extract ourselves from this pot of boiling water, but the GOP Congressassholes have been holding down the lid on the pot to prevent us from escaping, and they don't care that it's burning their hands to push down on the pot lid. Or, rather, the GOP Congressshitheads are inside the boiling pot with the rest of us, but they're weighing down the lid from the inside to prevent anyone from getting out.

So, as I fully expected, Senator Thom Tillis has decided to not do the right thing. He has decided to be the same old, stupid, Obama-obstructing, Trump-asskissing shitheel that he has been ever since he took office. *shrug*

In other words, to hell with Thom Tillis. I hope he goes down right along with the S.S. Trumptanic, when it finally hits the iceberg (of justice) that's looming in the waters ahead.

Utter fucking predictable horseshit behind cut )

The fact that I got such a reply only a day after sending my initial message shows me that Senator Tillis himself very likely never even saw my message, and probably some intern or whoever just emailed me back with the above copy/pasted piece of shit form letter.

Also, I'll probably now get another billion emails from "The Office of Senator Thom Tillis" before I can finally get them to remove me from their spam list, despite explicitly checking the "Please do not send me e-mail updates from Senator Tillis" option when I sent them my initial message. We'll see, I guess. Every single one I get from him will be reported to https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ as soon as I get them.
