Last Week Tonight Twofer
Nov. 2nd, 2020 11:04 am"Trump & the Coronavirus: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)"
"John Oliver takes a look at how the Trump administration has handled the coronavirus outbreak in the US, from lack of preparation, to mangled coordination, to harmful communication."
"William Barr: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)"
"John Oliver discusses William Barr’s attitude toward authority and executive power, how that attitude has influenced Donald Trump’s presidency, and what it could mean if Trump wins a second term."
Yeah, it's pretty much the entire episode this time. It's 40 minutes of John Oliver essentially saying "please don't reelect Donald Trump, and here are some extremely good reasons for why you shouldn't do that." But then, a vast majority of the episodes of Last Week Tonight over the past four years have been him saying that.
Anyway, only one more day (plus however long it takes to tally all the votes) until we find out if the United States of America finally comes to its collective senses or shits the bed once again. I mean, we've been sleeping in that shit for the past four years now, and I really don't want another massive dump to be taken in that bed before we've been able to clean up all the shit from the previous massive dump that was taken. We won't be able to even start cleaning all that shit up until after Trump is no longer POTUS, which may be three months from now... or four years and three months from now.
Oh, and I was totally wrong in that post about "buyer's remorse," but I was totally right about Trump picking goddamn SCOTUS justices, and (sarcasm) boy did he pick a bunch of real winners there (/sarcasm). I wish my right/wrong ratio had been flipped the opposite way there. It'll only get even worse if Trump gets four more years. *weary, pessimistic sigh*
(And, because HBO is, as always, a shit-filled toilet when it comes to region-locking, here is an alternative link.)
