Shipping boxes from WA
Nov. 13th, 2020 02:01 pmFor the firstsecond time since I moved from WA to NC back in 2014, I have touched the shipping boxes that I had shipped from there to here. And this is certainly the first time I've touched them since I moved from my mother's old house (which, incidentally, was demolished a few days ago for reasons that are beyond the scope of this post) to where I live now at my sister's house (which is where all the shipping boxes ended up, even before I ended up moving here myself).
The point of this is because the furnace for the central heating system in this house was condemned during the last maintenance visit from Berico and can't be used anymore, so to replace that, my sister bought a heat pump thing (a temporary solution, probably, just for this winter) that will be placed on the hearth in the living room... which is where all my shipping boxes had been sitting until now.
Now, they're all in my bedroom (i.e. the room I'm in now). Two stacks of eight boxes, with another box on top of those two stacks in the middle, and two more boxes under my computer desk. The upside to all of this is that I have much more easy access to the rest of my books again (and, of much lesser importance, all my PC games, though I've since rebought around probably 75% of those on Steam/GOG for dirt cheap anyway).
