For the firstsecond time since I moved from WA to NC back in 2014, I have touched the shipping boxes that I had shipped from there to here. And this is certainly the first time I've touched them since I moved from my mother's old house (which, incidentally, was demolished a few days ago for reasons that are beyond the scope of this post) to where I live now at my sister's house (which is where all the shipping boxes ended up, even before I ended up moving here myself).

The point of this is because the furnace for the central heating system in this house was condemned during the last maintenance visit from Berico and can't be used anymore, so to replace that, my sister bought a heat pump thing (a temporary solution, probably, just for this winter) that will be placed on the hearth in the living room... which is where all my shipping boxes had been sitting until now.

Now, they're all in my bedroom (i.e. the room I'm in now). Two stacks of eight boxes, with another box on top of those two stacks in the middle, and two more boxes under my computer desk. The upside to all of this is that I have much more easy access to the rest of my books again (and, of much lesser importance, all my PC games, though I've since rebought around probably 75% of those on Steam/GOG for dirt cheap anyway).

"Trump is making noise about running for president again in 2024, but I doubt he’ll be able to, in no small part because he just might be in prison."

*fingers fucking crossed*

And my comment under that post:

"As a resident of NC, all I can say is that it sucks hard that NC went for Trump. I did what I could to prevent that, but oh well.

"It sucks even more that we sent Thom Tillis back to the U.S. Senate, rather than Cal Cunningham. *weary sigh*

"On the bright side, at least Roy Cooper retained governorship instead of it shifting to Dan Forest. One out of three isn’t great, but given that Trump still lost anyway, the biggest of those three was nullified, at least."

"We examine an embarrassing GameStop TikTok dance contest for its employees."

How is GameStop still a thing that exists? *eye roll*

That said, Pat and Ian got way more angry about this than me, mainly because I'm already to the point that (I repeat) I wouldn't even stop to piss on a GameStop if I passed by one that was on fire.
