Another short story, written entirely by NovelAI, except for the first line. It's just a story about a little boy in the park with his mother, who then go home and have dinner with the boy's grandfather.

I hit "Retry" on this one a few more times than I did on the last one, in this case if the AI made a non sequitur response or otherwise tried to take the story in a weirder or creepier or darker direction (e.g. at one point towards the end, it tried to kill off the grandfather, and though that certainly could have been an interesting, if sad twist, if I'd let it stand, I just wasn't feeling that at all). But other than that, I made no actual edits to it myself.

Honestly, while you can definitely "play" NovelAI like a "game" the same way you can with AI Dungeon, I kind of like just letting the AI go (within reason) and seeing what it comes up with. It seems to be better at that than AI Dungeon is. (For one thing, again, NovelAI doesn't try to randomly turn a story into porn out of nowhere. *eye roll* Or at least it hasn't yet.)

Well holy shit, I guess I just found the grinding spot. I was at the mountain city Perdida and had used up all my money on buying equipment and needed some more, so I figured I'd go out and grind a bit to get some more money, since I'd been getting something like 500g per fight in that area. Fought an enemy called Toko-something, and when the fight was over, I got like almost 10,000xp (as I'd already taken both of the exp boosting merit award things). Everyone leveled at least twice (Oliver went from 48 to 50, for instance), and one of the level 1 familiars I had popped on just to level it up went up like 20-something levels, just from one fight. Definitely wasn't expecting that at all.

Looked it up online and found there is a variant that occurs in the apparent final dungeon that gives 22,000xp. There was also a lesser variant on an island somewhere that I could have gotten to way earlier that gave around 2,000xp, but I hadn't know about that, until now. Oh well.

Honestly, though, this is the first time I've felt the need to grind (for money) so far, all game. If I kill more of these Toko-whatever guys while doing that, so much the better, I guess, but I don't think I'll bother to actually exp/level grind until I get to that final area.

(EDIT) And then right after making this post, I went back to the game and got into a fight that had two of those Tokotoko guys in it, for another almost 20,000xp. It's pretty ridiculous.

Thing is, though, they don't really give all that much gold, which is what I'm actually after now. ^^; (/EDIT)
