Oh Cracked.com, I know that you are 99.9% a humor site. However, it is for that rare 0.1% like this that I truly love you so. (But don't stop with the funny either, that's awesome as well.)
I absolutely 100% agree with the content of that article. It is now time for Obama to shit, or get off the pot. Put up or shut up. It's that simple. If he does not, or cannot, he will likely be out of a job come 2012, much to the detriment of the nation if/when a Republican (or, even worse, a Tea Bagger, though there's really not all that much difference between the two) takes his place.
While it is definitely true that he has done, or at least facilitated, a great number of good things in his half a term in office so far, it is also pretty obviously true that this is just not being communicated effectively to a sizable chunk of the American people. (Primarily because a lot of these Americans are sitting around with their fingers in their ears going "Lalalala, I can't hear you" before turning their TVs/radios on to watch such poison as Glenn Beck or Limbaugh or whoever, but I'll just leave that there for now.)
And it's going to take way more than a simple list that reads like a list of "Chuck Norris Facts" to accomplish this, as much as I would love for that to be enough. Speaking of which, until I read the above linked cracked.com article, I was completely unaware of the existence of whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com. As the article correctly states, that site, despite the intentions of its creators, will serve little purpose than to preach to the liberal choir and further anger conservatives. If Obama himself can't make clear his own accomplishments, and in a way that even the opposition can understand and accept, then he will surely fail, even if he is succeeding otherwise (and I believe he is mostly succeeding otherwise). Frankly, I think such a thing will be a monumental and perhaps insurmountable task, even for him, especially given that the opposition is unceasingly doing everything in its power to paint him in a negative light.
The sad thing is, I think, that the people who truly need to hear this stuff, whether from him or from any other source, have already decided that he needs to go, and nothing that he or anyone else can say will reach them and change their minds. (Remember, to a lot of them, he's nothing more than Muslim/Socialist/Kenyan/Nazi/Antichrist/etc. and nothing can or will be said to sway them.) That's what the tactics of division, which have been used by both sides* over the past few decades or so, if not even longer, has wrought and is why people are becoming sick of Republicans and Democrats put together. Despite all that, hopefully, the swing voters mentioned in the cracked.com article will do the right thing when the time comes.
(Also, I am not going to even glance at the comments section underneath that cracked.com article. I assume it will be just as full of the retarded stuff that is normally in the comments section underneath any given cracked.com article, except probably worse by at least an order of magnitude, given that the article in question is of a political nature and only a little bit funny.)
