I used that phrase before concerning another article on this website The GhettoLearn to Counter. And now, I am saying the same thing again about this article on the same website.

I didn't think that one was quite as good as the previous one. I'm never a big fan of "today's games suck, back in my day..." rants, even ones that are well-written and have some support. I especially don't like it when they include insults (implied or overt) against people who like the current-gen games. (Did you catch the insult towards Twilight fans in there also? I remember you not liking those so much...)

I thought he had some good points, but "new gamers only care about graphics" is something I've been hearing since at least the mid-90's. Supposedly FF7 was worse than the SNES FF's because "people only care about graphics". That was then the same reason that FFX was worse than the PSX FFs. And now it's the reason why FF13 is worse than the PS2 FFs. I've also heard the "this genre used to be original, now it's just crap" screed as well for as long as I've been playing video games. Usually the opinion comes from cherry-picking the best of the old games and comparing them with all the current games coming out.

Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the only people who grew up with Atari 2600 and the original NES, but still likes PS3 games.
