This happens every time. During the primaries, the various candidates always try to utterly destroy the other guys they're running against, dragging them through the mud and trying to make them look incredibly horrible so that voters will vote for them as the nominee instead. Yet, when a nominee is finally chosen, the losers who were previously denigrating the guy who won (usually) rally around that very same guy and start singing his praises and going on and on about how he's so much better than the guy on the other side. Why is the guy who was being completely vilified yesterday now such a super awesome guy today? Doesn't matter if it's Democrat or Republican or whatever, it's still the same old song and dance every election.

Not at all unrelated to the above, John McCain has apparently endorsed Mitt Romney. In my eyes, that's a knock against Romney. This is, after all, the same guy who had the incredibly poor judgement to select Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008. And he supports SOPA as well. See also: this, which happened yesterday in South Carolina. The initial crowd reaction, before McCain was corrected and they all started laughing at him, somewhat reminded me of the reaction to the last time McCain defended Obama (when it was actually intentional).

Well, whatever, it doesn't matter to me who wins the Republican nomination, because the whole lot of them are quite terrible (some way more so than others, granted, and the more hideous ones are starting to be weeded out as well they should be, but even so). As long as Obama wins another four years, that's all that really matters to me. He's obviously not the perfect "Messiah" that his detractors sarcastically paint him as being, but in my view he's most assuredly the "lesser evil" in the equation. There are some things he's doing that I don't like, but then every politician usually does things that I don't like.

(Okay, this will hopefully be my one and only post discussing the upcoming Presidential election. Besides this and posting about specific things like SOPA/PIPA and the like, I'm going to try to stick to my previously established "don't ever talk about politics anymore" stance here on this journal. Probably won't succeed in that, admittedly, but I'm definitely going to try. [EDIT] HAHAHAHAhahahahaha ha ha ha ha h a h a h....... [/EDIT])
