I wish I were kidding.
And he's saying fans need to "chill" and that he's not going to ruin the franchise and so on and so forth. Right, I totally trust him after the tender loving care he paid to the Transformers franchise. (Granted, I only saw the first one, and it was okay I guess, but I hear the other two were far worse, which is why I never bothered to see them.)
But in a more general sense, why does everything need to be remade or rebooted these days? And why does it need a "more complex back story" or whatever? As far as TMNT is concerned, I was just fine with "four baby turtles were dropped into a sewer, covered in toxic ooze, and taught ninjitsu by a humanoid rat." It doesn't need to be more complex than that. *weary sigh*
I don't know, this movie may end up being the best thing ever, or at least maybe it'll be as not completely sucky as the first Transformers movie. I'm not holding my breath on this, though.
(EDIT)
Also, "Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles..." Hmm, I wonder which one needed the money so badly? Eastman? Or Laird? Maybe both?
