No. Just no.
I've said this before, I am saying it right now, and I most assuredly will say it again in the future: not every single game nor every single genre of game needs multiplayer, "asynchronous" or otherwise. They do not need "social features/tools." They don't need online connectivity of any sort whatsoever. Those that do have these things forced into them are simply going to be games that I do not buy, period. Aside from the obvious reasons (i.e. DRM implementation and such), why do video game devs/publishers mistakenly believe that it is somehow the case that all games and all genres do need these things?
They don't. Really, they don't.
