More shitbags doing shitbag things, I guess.

Doesn't affect me because 1) I haven't played Minecraft in years, even before Mojank sold out to Micro$hit, 2) I never played the Pocket Edition to begin with, and 3) I never signed up for this Lifeboat thing (or, for that matter, even heard of it prior to this story), but still... stories about hacking crap like this never fails to make me at least a little bit pissed off, no matter what.

I saw that on slashdot or something I believe. I don't have an account with this Lifeboat thing (or pocket edition). So yeah, doesn't affect me either - or shouldn't.

This is one of those reasons why I try to limit what I sign up for online. As it seems every business will eventually get a turn or two to totally fail at basic security practices for hosting a website.

It's also why Sony and Microsoft never got credit card details out of me for their console digital stores. They had to give me a way to buy prepaid cards if they wanted any money out of me - although MS's offerings were rather depressing for my tastes so they got even less with that - and ever since the DLC fuckup Sony/Sega pulled last year that I bitched and ranted about several times, it had the net effect of seriously drying up the well of wealth available to Sony.)

On the topic of Minecraft though, your stuff is still intact on the server as I said it would be. Even if you never log in again. ^^ (We did yank the beacon though for project use. *grin*)

I should try to see if there are any other old OWers and the like that still play the game that want on the server. ^^; It's not like it's ever been very busy there since 1.5 or so. ^^

See, this is how long it's been since I played Minecraft, since I don't even know you're referring to when you mention the beacon. ^^; Is that the thing that gave you stat bonuses while in range or whatever?

(EDIT) Yeah, apparently so. (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Beacon) Eh, anyway, like I said, you can harvest whatever you want from the tower. (/EDIT)
